Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 8:11 am)
The hair props are more-or-less the same as a prop parented to the head, you can do that and just change the extension from pp2 to hr2. Incidently, the way to put a hair prop on twice (which sometimes works better with transmapped hair) is to save a copy as a prop, and put it on after the hair, you can't normally have two hr2 props on the same figure.
Jim, you can add a hair model (.hr2) and then parent it to say, "Universe", and then double-click on a different one, which of course is automatically parented to the head. Then you can re-parent the first one to the head, or to the second hair model. I used to have a serious problem with what I saw with the hair that was available a year ago, so I started combining models, but before I figured this way out, I used to have to export the models and re-import them, which woulkd require re-scaling, and resetting the axes, etc. This way is FAR easier. I can't say it works with everything, though, and, like , conforming hair won't do it at all, obviously.
Well, if that's the case, it's a simple matter of File>Export>Wavefornt.OBJ (or .3ds, etc...), and then uncheck everything in the hierarchy window which will open, and then scroll to the hair model, place an X in the box, and then hit OK, and that's it. Except in the case of Poser 4.03 where another window will open with more export options. Anything in Poser can be exported this way, except for that funky stuff which "grows" when you type in the word, "hair", or the wave or magnet deformers.
Johntommy, I know you have CR2Edit, and very soon Version5 will be released. In that, you can click "Export Embedded Geometry" and it will make an OBJ for you. You can also have the HR2 file with the geometry removed with the new OBJ referenced as an external file, with another new tool, so that you can work on the OBJ without having to rebuild the HR2 every time. How to export obj in hair(hr2) files?
