Bryce 6.1 Mac 10.4: When I edit a tree in Bryce I set the foliage shape to bamboo, then the tree shape to bamboo that is where the problem occurs. here is the screen shot for the error.

I can't dup this on my MacPro/10.5.1, Bryce 6.1.13.1. Have you looked in the Preset>Trees folder to see if you have the Bamboo.bto file there?

Yes it is there. I have no idea how to fix this.

Do you have B5.5? Might work in that. I use that all the time when I have 6.1 problems.

Thank you for that info but alas I'm on dial-up and that would take forever to download. I do appreciate you help. Times like these I wish I had high speed.

One other alternative, if you have the money for it, is the boxed version from DAZ, but it is $48:97.

Not something I could contemplate, but if you want it and can't download it, that may be the only option...

Well you could try a download manager.  when  I was on dial up they were quite useful as you could stop downloading even turn off or reboot your computer and resume your download later.
If you need a free one  do a google search  for Fresh Devices (I still use it in case the power goes out or something) . I think the largest file I ever downloaded that way was about 150MB.

I tried editing this way in windows and it worked without crashing but the result was crap. Try this before you go crazy.

Hold down the Alt button then click on the tree icon. instead of a default tree that you then have to edit you should have a menu pop up with names. You can release the Alt Key once this appears. Scroll down to the Bamboo setting and click. A fairly looking bamboo should appear in your Bryce workspace.
