Ok, I'll byte, how do I install this plugin? Marque

Teach me not to read the product manual...sigh. The new poser pro book states that you load the poser plugin and calls it poser.dta That was my problem, as we all know it should be a .p extension. Went to my lil pro pack booklet and got it to load. Now to play. 8^) I left this thread just in case someone else has a problem. Marque

First you have to load the plugin. I had a problem with that because it said to go to the xtras tab in Lightwave and I didn't have one until I went to preferences and chose to use the Lightwave 6.0 layout. Once you change it you will select Extras > Add Plug-Ins. You will find the plugin in the Lightwave folder, not Poser. It is in the PzrForLW foler in the Lightwave plug-in folder. Choose the PzrForLW6x.p and hit OK. You'll get a box saying the plugin was successfully loaded. Now you select Files>Load Scene. You want to select the All Files in the Files of Type pull-down menu and then locate your desired Poser (*.pz3) file. Mind you this is for Lightwave 6.5 Hope this helps, I've had this for a while but just started playing with it. Haven't even loaded the 6.5b update cause I don't want to rock the boat on the project I'm working on. Knowing my luck it will change something in my System directory and mess with my other program....lol Yes, I'm paranoid at this point. At any rate it pulled the pz3 file in without a problem. yep

Marque ( ) posted Fri, 15 June 2001 at 7:44 AM

Where does it actually break down, I mean what step do you get to before you have a problem? You have the poser pro pack right? Marque

swfreeman ( ) posted Fri, 15 June 2001 at 7:49 AM

i do it exactly like u explained it.. i open a scene->all files-> any pz3 then it says unable to convert the file, lock up and blue screen...crash and burn (no..i got enough memory...yes i have ppp)

That's weird. I would call the 800 number at Newtek and ask them what's going on. They were pretty helpful to me when I had a problem earlier. The programs are too expensive to just sit on the shelf. Wish I could help more but I'm too new myself to really dig in. I had to go to the Inside Lightwave 6 book to figure out how to load the plugin, couldn't find it in the manuals. Sorry I couldn't help more. Marque

lol:) i think its just windows me :) it fucks 3d studio max up too ...thats why i dont work with max on my pc anymore... ive wanted to give lightwave and ppp a try...but now im pissed...its the same problem as the 3ds plugin..it does nothing...sometimes it just imports a empty blue outlined dummy box...and another time it crashes my computer.. naa...i render with poser :)

I've heard a lot of bad things and some good things about WinME. I use Win98 and Win2k and the Win2k is the most stable I've seen Windows yet. Well good luck...hopefully I'll get this thing learned soon...lol Marque

If you spent that much on pro software why wouldn't you spend a few hundred more for a pro operating system?Your just asking for headaches like the ones your having.

Most windows users I've talked to who got Windows ME had to shit-can it. I've seldom found any one who can get current graphics programs to work right on it. I use Win NT4 w/ sevPak6 and Win98se. As for lightwave 6.0. I just got the new FREE 6.5"b" upgrade(Yes," b",), this week. It resolved all the issues that kept it from working right all year. :) :) :) Oh no! This means I gotta learn how to use it on my new rebuilt machine hehehehehehe....
