Subject: View from your window!
Nice view :) I know what you mean after liveing in a city for decades and am now out in the country.
You can see the view on my artist page here behind my photo.
We have a ton of birds too. Plus geese and ducks by the truck load :) Possums and minks.
Often in the morning, sitting at the kitchen table drinking my morning coffee I see dear come out to the waters edge.
And turkeys, got a bunch of them this year :)
Well, the first thing I see is our balcony railing. Beyond that is a parking lot and a hedge of rosebushes. Right now they are rather transparent, but once the leaves grow the road will be hidden. On the other side of the road are more houses, six stories high.
Turning my head a bit I can see the crossroads with the traffic lights, a Hesburger a gas station, a carwash and the shopping center which hosts a grocery store, video rental, pet food shop, a hair dresser, a pizza and kebab joint (yumm) and a local pub I would not set my foot in unless I got paid to do it.
It really isn't as bad as it might sound. In the Summer it gets green and at night the coloured lights are pretty. We also get quite a few birds, some even come sit on the railing. (Unfortunately they often leave a white calling card behind.)

This was taken looking up river from the bridge you see to the right in the winter picture. The lights along the right are actually lights lining a river walkway, which are actually across from my building.

@Acadia -- the first picture looks like a landscape from either a post-apocalyptic fantasy story or else perhaps a near-future background scene from the movie Blade Runner. Neat.
The second image looks like a nighttime paradise.
The third image looks like many of the places that I've spent a lot of time working in over the years.

You can try. Just enter your full address, and Google will give you
a map. Double-click on your actual location to get as close as
possible, then click the Street View button.

I get a map, but there is no street view button/link. I guess it's not available in my area yet.

Yep! The tiny balcony full of bonzais of my flat :) I even have a little apple tree, unfortunately i had only a few apples this year (they have the size of a hazelnut!) ^^
:lol: In our village, the ducks regularly wander about in the road that runs alongside the river, especially during the duckling making season. They're too stupid to get out of the way of cars, preferring to stand in the middle of the road and quack furiously at anything that gets in the way of their courting. When sleepy driver meets aggressive duck, the result is squashed duck. I don't suppose they'd get out of the way of the lawn mower either. :rolleyes:

Google is working on street view here now. And boy! Are they ever encountering resistance! LOL Seems people don't like to have their images, cars, plates etc on the net.

Hi all,
Strange request this one, but I'm bored today!
I sometimes take pics of the squirrels & birds which we get alot of round here, mainly to show my neice. Anyhow, this is the main window I take them from, which is also where I do my artwork. I just thought it'd be interesting to see the view others have from where they do their art.
Do some of you have amazing inspirational views which help your creative brain get into gear?
Where I'm living at the moment it's only a backyard, but at least there's some trees. When I lived with friends I only had a skylight to look at!
Anyone up for it?
