Look what I just found!

@LostinSpaceman**
Is there an easy way to transfer both the morphs and FBM dials to a P5 figure from EJ?
Is there a way to get EJ to work in Face Room? I would like to give it the default head.

I forgot to mention one other cool Judy thing... the figure actually works well with the Morph Putty tool.

grylin ( ) posted Tue, 06 May 2008 at 1:15 PM

Well you can't transfer FBM dials with MorphManager 4, but you can transfer all of the body morphs and then set each particular body part morph to 1 and have Poser recreate the FBM once you have all the morphs transfered.

Say the morph name is Muscles. First you use Morph mananger to transfer all the morphs to your P5 figure, then select each body part and set the "Muscles" morph to 1. Once each body part has Muscles set to 1, then you go to Poser's "Figure>Create Full Body Morph" option and name the new FBM "Muscles FBM". Whallah! You now have the FBM's you wanted. I Love EJ for that reason and that the morphs worked on the entire P5 family.

The only way I know of to get EJ to work in the faceroom is to Transfer all of her morphs to Judy Nude and use her.

pitklad ( ) posted Tue, 06 May 2008 at 3:04 PM

Morph Putty is actually something like the face room for every figure!
I make a version of the figure I want to use where I've removed any expression morph and use it to create character faces, I've made a face poses pack for Domus this way...

The basic Judy cr2 file includes only expressions and all the other morphs are brought to her via the face room, so it is good for creating new expressions for Judy...

The previous free version of WW could convert Posette clothes to Judy, the clothes she comes with are a good start also, with a bit texture work they do the job...

Yep, got them all last year!  Jan

"....can't transfer FBM dials with MorphManager 4"

Yes you can.
Just load a POSE (pz2) file before you load the actual cr2.
(Any pz2 file will do)
This will unlock the body actor and you can transfer the FBM dials.

That Satomi character got me to thinking to try just a little magnet and scaling on the default.

I wonder if Judy would have been more successful a bit cute like this 'out of the box'.

Thanks, Joe.

I made a quick magnet-lifting on her, correcting some issues on the face

Didn't want to change the face a lot...

Corrected: nostrils ( more like a human creature) , a bit chin, the jaw made a big difference, eyes , lips... Forehead & ears look odd but if those change hair will not work... And Judy should NEVER be bald!!!

Still not there, those need some smoothing on nostrils and cheeks...

The P5s are very versatile. I really enjoyed working with them. They do have some flaws namely the way the eyes sit in the head and they broke down pretty easily when expression were applied.

I just finished the smoothing! I used the P7 morph tool! It is an incredible tool!

So this morph was done with magnets, morph tool and some minor details adjustments on Wing...

Isn't she cute?

"I used the P7 morph tool! It is an incredible tool!"

Yes it is, isn't it ?
Best Poser invention since, well, conforming clothing perhaps ? 🆒

Nice work. She looks a lot more pleasant but still like Judy.

One caveat though: If one morphs a face too much, the expression morphs can break.
But again this is quite easily fixed using the P7 morphbrush.

This is me input using the Viktorina by Ken model (he has nice scupture dials).  Reset everything in the face room and did a lot of dial spinning there and out of it.  Came up with Betty-hair by Koz with V3 Glasses.  Jan

momodot ( ) posted Fri, 09 May 2008 at 12:34 PM

There was a post long ago about using EJ with the face room... was it just replacing the EJ head with the standard Judy head on the .obj?

grylin ( ) posted Fri, 09 May 2008 at 2:24 PM

oh i have no idea. ill search for that:)  and now, off to make sum characters again :)

momodot ( ) posted Fri, 09 May 2008 at 3:03 PM

I found an old .cr2 of EJ with the default head but the rigging is currupt an bending the left arm breaks the color mesh.

I've spotted another big issue on Judy's mesh, Teeth are outside the gums! It seams like those were moved by mistake during her creation...

I made a correction morph to move them in the right position plus lowering their height so that Judy can smile showing her upper teeth at last! 😉

The default Judy looks like a young Bette Davis to me.  You know -- one of the old-time actresses from the "Golden Age of Hollywood".......for those of you who are unfamiliar with any actress older than Nicole Kidman, or perhaps anyone older than Miley Cyrus:

Funny you should say that (re Bette Davis).
Here is one of my early gallery images (with Judy in a very 1940s frame of mind).

I really like using Judy.  She makes great ethnic characters and I find her only "problem" is with her eyes.  They don't morph well.  It's even harder with Penny who've I've tried to reshape for a children's book I'm working on.  Can anyone make Penny (OR Mattie, V2 based Preschooler) to look like this little girl?  I can't pay ... but it would be a great help!  I'd rather use Penny if I can because she has the wardrobe that I need for the story.  She is the subject of the book. Ever noticed how the new, 3rd party figure meshes get bulldozed in the DAZ blitzkrieg? Although in Judy's case, it was more a matter of the P5 launch fiasco. But yeah, I use her all the time; first mesh that didn't have the Poser shovel foot, making her ideal for action poses in something other than combat boots.

I've been thinking that one of these days that I'll remap Judy like I remapped Posette.  That would obviate the necessity of UtCing all those V3 texture to use on her. DPH

PS: Attached is my first Wiktorija render.  Wiktorija was a custom hybrid (Judy body, V3 head) that was made for me by Stahlratte.

I have been playing with Eternal Judy and getting cute faces but overall it is too smooth, on the body and esp. the ear detail. Has anyone come up with an optimal way of blending EJ and the standard Judy for an intermediate effect? I have tried pointing the EJ .cr2 to the standard Judy geometry but I wonder if I should try something else...

There are actually too many head morphs on EJ... esp. since my install doesn't preserve the channel folder grouping for some reason... has anyone ever edited down and rationalized the names on all those dials?

Anyone ever use Eternal Posette by the way?
