This is a house not far from where I live ... I drive by it somewhat often, and wonder why they don't just tear it down.  maybe they left it up just for me  :)

Shari ... never seen moss on a roof?  Wow.

Wow.

Talk about locally exotic.  I never would have thought of this image for that challenge, but I guess it is!

We have moss EVERYWHERE!  On roofs, in lawns, even along the edges of shady driveways and roads.  If people here didn't clean and treat their roofs, ALL our roofs would look like this eventually!  I admit this is a very bad case, but it's really everywhere.  You know how they say moss grows on the North side of trees?  Out here, moss grows on the North side of EVERYTHING!

Look at Denise's mailbox pic.

Moss!

One of my absolute favourite places in my little village. Equally beautiful each season. Wintertime the icicles hang everywhere. I just wonder when it was alive and working.

One could easily put together a gallery consisting of all the entries being submitted in here, it would make a most interesting an entertaining collection.

I am going to stretch things a bit submitting a tree I photographed on Saturday in a game reserve.

Oh and btw, am I busted Shari?

Love the TREE!  I saw an awesome dilapidated tree at the park on Saturday; I saw it and KNEW it would be perfect for this challenge; but some dork was tailgating me; and I couldn't stop :-(  maybe I'll go back this weekend .. and get it.

yeah .. you're busted alright.  lol

Now I have to 'fess up, when I stumbled across this month's forum tonight I didn't have one that I'd just shot. Soooooooooo here is one taken early this spring.

But I do have a couple places in mind that I'd been meaning to get to, and now I've really got the extra incentive to get out and get those shots.   : )

What a great theme this is. I enjoy every piece, wonderful textures and places. Mother Earth takes back everything man made, like we processing food.

Wonderful photos here.. I am enjoying all the different things entered :)

I have some related to the theme, I have just uploaded in my gallery... but I took them before the challenge was issued (in August)...  So I'll let you look at them in my gallery if you care to.

I am on the look out for something .....

The weekend has arrived! So I got up early to catch the morning sun on a few shots.

I'm sure this boat is delapidating under all that bush. Perhaps with it next to the barn like that they are descendants of Noah and are keeping up the family tradition?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

I couldn't resist this rusty bunch of metal!  I'm not positive but by the look of the wheels, this was built before they invented rubber.

That boat is a real shame, it doesn't look that old but to let the bush grow around it like that, i cannot understand the mentality of some folks.  It doesn't look a cheap one either.

Excellent shot though and ties in with the theme fully.

As for the tractor, they put them wheels on for traction in muddy fields especially when harvesting such as potato's.

Another great shot.

PD154 ( ) posted Sat, 11 October 2008 at 12:37 PM

Poetess, Can't be descendents of Noah, the lawn would be covered in pairs of animals lol, nice capture.

Faders, this is a great image, I can hear the past voices of children that played there

Marka, I love those beautiful greens.

Lynn, great textures in this one, well shot Alex.

Cool effect adding the sepia and the framing, makes it look like an old photo.

I've really been enjoying seeing what everyone comes across, and agree old and worn is usually much more interesting.

And for those of you who are interested in moss, that's the north side of the headstone.   :)
