Subject: Split screen

ladyperiwinkle ( ) posted Sun, 22 February 2009 at 7:23 AM · edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 8:48 AM

Somehow by accdent I have a split screen where my object is behide my water, and I want to add more behind my water , now I know about the button on the right that divides it, but how do I add more so it looks as if it is behide the water like my other object?

Thank you!

Can you post more information ; what Bryce version, system you're on and a screengrab of what your screen looks like. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you.

I use  Bryce 6.  I was just playing around, I love what I did, but I don't know what I did.

I duplicated your screen shot.  Are you sure you have not toggled "wire frame on/off" button to the right of your screen.  It will cut off all object meshes below ground plane level even if default plane was deleted.

no I did not it has to do with a button that is below the button with the letter A on it -- I will e-mail the bryce file if you like, maybe you will know what I did then

If you are talking about the object menu, I notice the little arrow at the bottom of the list is pointing up indicating the object is below the plane level.

  1. what happens when you click it?  (it should move the sphere up to ground level)
  2. what happens when you click the "wire frame underground on/off" button?

Beyond that I've got nothing.

No on your right hand side where the pen and paint can are. Below them is a button with an A on it,  then the button below that. What I did has to do with that button.

When i click on the button below the A button I turn that off it it shows the whole object I click back on it it goes behind the line and shows half of the object but yet when you move the object, the whole object is in tack

Yes, that is the wire frame underground on/off button.

I have always left it on.  It does not effect the render as far as I know.

I don't think we are getting the right information to help you.  "... want to add more behide the water..."   are you doing an underwater scene and want to place objects below the water plane?

You will have to click "underground on" to see any object below the default horizon line in wire frame.

I just referred to Susan Kitchen's book and verified there is no effect on a scene other than being able to view wire frames below the horizon plane.  If that is the button you clicked and your wire frames are now hidden, just click it again and they come back into view.  Okay?

Your sphere is partly below the ground plane this is shown in the menu on your screen beside the wireframe where the last little box has an arrow pointing upwards if you click on that arrow bryce will automatically raise your object to above the ground plane. I suspect that as you have the sphere a long way back in the scene that you have re-scaled it to such a size that you have what is showing in the screengrab. If you require it that size try adjusting the camera angle so that the horizon is lower.
