Nope, the order doesn't matter. I've installed 4,5,6,7 in all kinds of sequences,
and they always get along.
Unlike %#$%#^^&&%&$^%@%#%# Vista.

Poser installs are always self-contained: they don't put DLLs and stuff anywhere other than in the Poser X folder. This means you can install onto your C: drive, then move the entire folder onto another drive, and it'll still run.
You could even move it onto another PC, though this may cause problems depending on the configuration of the two systems.
You can certainly have different versions installed on the same system: I have versions 6, 7 and PoserPro all running nicely on my setup.
Windows 10 x64 Pro - Intel Xeon E5450 @ 3.00GHz (x2)
PoserPro 11 - Units: Metres
Adobe CC 2017
I'm not sure whether Poser 4 will install at all under Vista64, but installation order for 5,6,7 and Pro doesn't matter - except for one little thing. File associations. The .pz3 (and .pzz) extensions will be associated with the last install of Poser, not with the most modern.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
Poser 4 (and later) will run from a CD or a USB flash if needed. I've done both several times. I've even tried it from an SD card. Works fine!
And all versions run just fine in Vista. At least the 32 bit Vista, I haven't tried the 64 bit version.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

I know you can have different versions of Poser installed on the same system at the same time, but I don't know if this is true of all versions or if the order of installaton might be a factor.
I currently have Poser 7 installed. I would like to install my old versions, i.e., 6, 5, and perhaps even 4, for testing and compatibility purposes. Has anyone done this? Has anyone done this in something other than the natural lesser-to-greater order?
Were there any tweaks necessary? And does everything work okay?
Thanks.
