Subject: UV Mapper

I've re-mapped a figure object in uv mapper, saved it, and it seems to be loading fine, but the texture map that should correspond with the new object doesn't, I have loaded the new object straight from the geometries file and it maps fine, but when I bring it in from the library it doesn't !?! I'm confused....any thoughts?

Could the library cr2 file still be pointing at the old obj file (from before you uv mapped it)?

If you are on PC and did replace an old .obj file with the same name, delete the "corresponding" .rsr file for the .obj file, because (Pre-PPP) Poser will look there first.

that, or resave the object file after making the map. I ran into that problem last night with a new custom figure. Poserized it just fine, then went to make a uvmap, and the texture didnt map correctly until I resaved the mapped object.

yes ,once you save uvmap be sure to save model as well ok then it should be ok i had this same problem and that fixec it

Thank you all for your comments, the cr2 file is definately pointing at the right object file I did replace the original object file with the new object, but only after I deleted the corresponding rsr file and the object loads into uv mapper displaying the map that I put together so I guess I did replace it. Still confused but feeling better for having checked those things again......any other thoughts? this is driving me crazy!!

change the name of the obj then edit the cr2 to match then try it.....thats the only thing i can think of.....Steve

What version of Poser are you using? If it's Poser 3 there was a problem with UV coordinates being inverted. Try flipping the texture map vertically (not the same as rotating it 180 degrees.) HTH, Steve

I am using Poser 4

Steve Cox ( ) posted Wed, 11 July 2001 at 11:50 AM

Right - you said it loads from the geometries file and maps fine, I should have figured Poser 4 from that... When you load the object from the library, try exporting it and loading it back into UVMapper to see how it's texture mapped. That might give you a little more infoirmation... Sorry, it's all I can think of. Good luck, Steve
