I dont know about the studio bit, but the easiest way to fix it is to change the y translation of the BODY, the BVH file shouldnt contain any information for the BODY, so if you move it up in the first frame, it should keep the rest of the animation at the proper level.
90% of the BVH's I have on my pc have this problem, and I do this to them all

I use poser native units
V4 loads with her feet in the ground. When you zero the figure the toes remain in the ground. In order to get V4 above the ground, after you zero the figure, you need to go to the menu options and pick "drown to ground" or whatever it's called.

in the future consider using the free PZ2 exporter for Daz studio.
it much better than the BVH exporter because it creates true Figure specific animated pose files
its what I used along with the aniMate® plugin to create my marketplace products.

The problem with using this is if you have a BVH where the character is jumping or dancing
or otherwise is supposed to be above the ground, the character is forced down to the ground.
Sort of looks odd to see a character that is supposed to be jumping just sliding along the
ground instead.

Is there any way to fix this? Did the animation in Studio, exported it as a bvh for Poser and it drops V4 below the floor. Is there a step I'm missing? Any help is appreciated.
