Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 30 12:25 pm)
Poser won't let you save two things as a smart prop. When you click "Select subset"
so you can check both the sword and scabbard, you can't use the smart-prop
choice.
Easiest solution is:
1. Save the sword and scabbard (parented together, and
correctly positioned on Mike) with the "Select subset" choice.
2. Then edit the PP2 file to make the scabbard into a smart prop.
In the PP2, find the line
parent UNIVERSE
and change it to
smartparent hip
This will make the scabbard a smartprop, and the sword will still be parented
to the scabbard.

Hello, I've modeled a sword and scabbard in OBJ format and imported it into Poser 7 no problem. I've positioned the models and parented the sword to the scabbard and the scabbard to the hip of M4 and it all works fine and as expected. I then save as a prop into the library. When I delete the prop and reload it from the library, it's no longer parented to the hip of M4. Is there any way of saving the parent information to the hip?
Thanks, hope this makes sense!.
Merlin.
