1st time caller....

I'm starting to get the hang of editing morphs, building new items and the dreaded CR2 file. Everything is starting to come together...

The Problem: I'm making boots in Maya, everything is named correctly and chopped up into body pieces. Once i click my new piece from the library it shows 2 of my pieces inside-out. So, I open the original Geo, flip the normals (which was the problem), save, export, place in my folders (replace)... I think I'll be all set.

Nope, normals are flipped every time i click my piece from the library even though they are now correct in the original target geomerty.
I'm stumpped, Help!!

Poser may have embedded the geometry in the library file. Open it in wordpad and you will easily see if thats what happened. You need to edit the file to discard the original geometry and then put in the line for your geometry file.

Or,  you may have more than one OBJ file with the same name in different folders.
In that case, rename the old one and make sure the new one is the ONLY file
with this name on your whole computer.

( When I get frustrated because my OBJ changes aren't showing up in the figure,
this is usually the problem!)

I don'r know what i did but I fixed it. i imported and exported to maya and zbrush so many times and flipped normals so many times until one of them worked.

I do have one new problem though....

I made an obj, imported, placed it, parented it, saved as smart prop and added to library...
Problem: No .pp2 file. It's not anywhere in props folder or subfolder.

Any clues, I'm in poser 6

Ok I'm back again, Poser is doing the same thing... flipping my normals.

I made a simple ring in Maya, extruded a line of polys to bevel an edge, exported the obj, imported to poser. The normals are flipped.

Is there ANY way to flip normals, or, make normals not matter in Poser???

edit: I see it, when i import it.
