My suggestion for a Carrara newbie? 1. Read the manual thoroughly. 2. Get the Carrara Bible(If you can find it). 3. Read,read,read 4. Practice,practice,practice. 5. I'm not sure but I think there a few good tutorials here at renderosity, in the tutorials section. 6. Maybe litst(the moderator of this forum) can help you out he's in France. 7. When you have a question, post it in this forum, and you will get lots of help from everyone. Good Luck and have fun with it, Carrara will reward you quickly for your work, it's on of the easiest programs to get to know, you'll catch on faster than you think. I've learned that "Rue Barre" is French for "Don't drive down that road, you Chucklehead!" Unfortunately, this was learning by Life Experience.

I'm probably spelling it wrong. It was a "Road Closed" sign. We ended up backing up with a line of cards down one-way streets in Avigon (which I'm also probably spelling wrong).

It think it would go, "Learn to spell, you chucklehead." You guys confuse me with all your silent letters. I could read signs a lot better than I could "hear" anything. And I didn't even try to pronounce anything.

And, Litst -- my French is not very good, but am I reading your note to nikoandmarcelus correctly in saying that Eovia has an "antenna" (?) in France that's located in Bordeaux? What's Eovia doing with an antenna in France? I keep my antenna securely hidden inside my skull.... And, yes, we can do the accents here in the US; it's old DOS code, though and not easy.... even the German Portuguese and so on.... I'm kind of used to it, but when I was in Germany in January, I tried using one of their computers, and there are all these extra keys all over the place -- confused me immensely!

Yes, it's in the ASCII code, even if some fonts only have english standard letters . But happily, internet fonts are complete . "antenne" doesn't mean "antenna" in this case ... how could i say ... they got an office in Bordeaux that's related to the main one in San Diego . litst

litst - In English you would say. Eovia has a European branch office in Bordeaux. I envy anybody that knows more than one language. When I was in school all they offered was 2 years of Spanish in High School. Nothing at all in the Elementary and Junior High Schools. Keith

Most people I know in Amereica can barly speak English correctly. Let alone write with correct grammar. I have friends who can't spell simple words. Your lucky litst, speaking two or more languages is an asset, and I envy you too. kaom P.S. I tried Escargot once and couldn't do it. I speak Spanish and could almost make out the French postings but it helps to know what they are talking about. French is really a cool language. It sounds so nice specially if spoken by a beautiful girl. :)

Kaom if you're in the states you should check out Texas girls :) Oh, about the other languages, in High School I took Latin (boy was I dumb!) It helps me with some french, Spanish, and other language roots...but it's hard to find a latin speaking person! About all I learned was Utre Capite - Use your head...(and I probably spelled that wrong as is!) Jared

I never could eat one of those ... They're so friendly ! The other day, a snail came into the house . We began to play together, and he became my buddy . For a short time unfortunately : my mother stepped on it by mistake ... Poor buddy :( Happily, i've got this pic left to remember the good times we had together ! MMMMMMM I love cheddar! What do the French think of cheddar litst? Do you guys like it? In America,cheddar is like a religion to some people, I'm one of them. I love French cheese's too. Don't listen to litst, kaom. He's obviously in denial about the BEST CHEESE IN THE WORLD. Hmmm. Now I'm in the mood to whip up a batch of Cheddar-Garlic biscuits. MMMMmmmm.

I like cheddar too! especially the kind in a can :) goes great with "Chicken In A Biskit" ! Maybe that's just a poor ghetto snack though...but it's good! French cheeses are good too...except for some of the really smelly ones!

Chees in a can is awsome. Chicken in a biscut crackers rule, they're one of my favorites. Yum! Ghetto food, I love it. My real weakness is Beef Jerkey and Doritos with an ice cold beer(Molson Lager). I could live off this stuff. The only chees I hate is limburger, have you ever smelled that stuff? It smells like sweaty socks, No thank you. Everything goes better with cheddar! LOL kaom

Kaom <-- have you tried the bar-b-que flavor? I'm more old fashioned...I stick to the original :-) I've never smelled limburger...doesn't even sound good to me! I'm more partial to colby-jack and of course cheddar! Especially Sharp Cheddar :) I can feel litst's angry stares! Let's just hope he doesn't unleash the beast!

We make WOOD packages for the Camembert so that it can keep all its flavor and grow old naturally ... cheese in a can !... Please tell me i'm having a bad dream ! Ha. I have a dog-training friend who SWEARS by Cheese in a Can. She uses it to teach puppies to heel. So yeah, EZ Cheez is real, and not just some wonderful dream, Litst.

Personally, I think that EZ cheese is hilarious. While I don't share Litst's hatred for all things cheddar, I do think cheese should be as natural as possible in this modern world of ours. A nice hunk of sharp Wisconsin Cheddar is heaven, as can be havarti, brie, or even -- yes, it's true -- limburger. (I'll admit that limburger is better when you can't smell it, but it's still good under the right circumstances.) And what about those beautiful french boys?
