Something I have always had fun experimenting with is the Poser Puthon Script in GeoMods - Randomize Morphs

Semiedieu's Randomizer (HeadBody) works very nicely on both P8 Alyson and P8Ryan.
You can also INJ their Head Morphs into the Casual versions of Alyson and Ryan.

Dependent Parameters are a lot of fun to use as well.
You can use a Body Part or Prop Motion to control another Figure's Body Parts or a prop.

The motion on the other figureprop doesn't have to be the same as the control.
I just did a quick one in which I used Andy's Left Hand Up & Down to control Alyson's Head Twisting Left and Right.
I could have add more motions as well.

I could also use DP to control multiple segments of a tail etc.
For instance bending segment 1 (control) using DP could also bend Segments 2 through 10.

You can set it up however you like. For example, here's it arranged to be like the Poser 7 UI: tools, lights and camera on the background shell, document and paramters floating and the library docked to the right.

See, I'm the opposite. I got so sick of the "leicht und transparent" of the old interface that I can't wait to get my hands on the new one. I wouldn't mind if the extra rectangular border were only applied to docked elements and the floating ones left as they are in the current UI. But I'd probably end up docking everything anyway, so I don't really care much either way.

I just have one question...

With the new GI does it make everything look nice in PREVIEW?

My problem is custom morphing.  Fake GI doesn't illuminate the preview enough, and classic lighting causes too many wrong preview shadings to morph accurately.  Will I be a happy camper?  Should I hold off any morphing projects until I can have this new feature?  Thanks.

Attached Link: Poser 7 UI with expanded library - 2560x1600 monitor

> Quote - 1) If you only care to see 5 to 7 items at a time (as was shown in somebody's screen shot of previous Poser) then by all means shrink the library down vertically so it only shows 5 at a time and stack it vertically with the parameters. Now you have MORE space than ever before, while being able to see the same amount of content. > > 2) It is 2009, almost 2010. I respect that some people cannot upgrade their hardware due to financial concerns. But 1024x768 is not the norm anymore. I think it's nice that the UI takes advantage of the screens I actually use. Your mileage may vary. > > 3) The layout is static only if you run it that way. That's your mistake if you do that. Learn to use the UI layout dots.

Good advice! - I like to have a big library open when I'm using it, then I collapse it to make way for other panels.

I'll do set up using one UI dot which gives me a 1280x800 preview window and generous room for panels.  If rendering an animation, I'll stay in this UI dot mode.
If making a wallpaper, I'll set up using this same UI dot, then switch to another UI dot which has a 2560x1600 pixel preview window for rendering.  The pair of UI dots are consistent in  preview window aspect ratio so that camera views will be consistent.
I have similar setup/render pairs of UI dots for NTSC aspect ratio and for square aspect ratio (for making avatars and library thumbnails).
In any case, I love a big monitor with lots of room to work.

Besides the quality of the renders and how fast they are Dependant Parameters is a totally awesome tool I've had fun playing with. 😄 As Mariner said much can be done with them.

For instance, now you can control the sway of a sword and scabbord by hip or leg movements; regardless of what body part it's parented to. And the amount of movement is controllable too!

woot!

Attached Link: tiled & procedural materials - comparsion of previews

> Quote - does it make everything look nice in PREVIEW?

I have a different preview wish:  I would like to see materials tiled in preview, so that I can see the effects of changes in Uscale/Vscale in real time.  If not in Poser 8, then perhaps for Poser 9.
I believe this is an OpenGL issue. (?)

My 32bit Poser 7 machines with hot-rod gamer video cards preview a tiled material as if one single copy of the image were spread over the entire surface, but Galadriel (64bit, Vista, Poser Pro) has an nVidia Quadro video card, and she previews tiling correctly, plus she previews procedural textures so that I can see the scale of the turbulence pattern.

Has any of you beta testing types looked at the file formats at all? Are there any interesting changes in there besides support for the new rigging features? For example, the ability to create morph channels from a pose file would be very nice. Also, are dependent parameters just traditional ERCs exposed to the UI, or has the ERC system be extended in useful ways?

I noticed it too.  Considering that the price is the same as version 7.  Would've seen and received more info on P8 whether it'd be in a later time then grant us the go-ahead.  IMO, it seemed all too soon, but I guess with all the fanfare here in the forums and elsewhare, SM's giving us the tease, I think.

BTW, with regards to the 30 day trial, I too ran to it thinking it would be version 8, I already got 7... I'm like WTF -- yeah, a classic 'gotcha' :tt2:...

Last time I looked, both the free trial and upgrade link pointed to P7 downloads. But the "Buy Now" link for the non-upgrade seemed to go to the genuine thing.

I guess I'm going to wait a few more days until they've sorted it out. It could be the real thing, and the website didn't update correctly, or it could be a leaked page that wasn't supposed to go life yet.

In Vista 64 you can do this it is called  EVENT VIEWER
After showing this to the tech he said it defently was my video card driver that was causing the problem , so what did i do wrong, well when  installed  the new driver you have to uninstall the old one because it will not  over write the old driver,  thats what i did not do, i ask the Tech if i uninstall would my screen go black , he said it shuoldn't but go to the vid manufacture and ask them to be  on th safe  side, i found the instrutions on how to uninstall , and renistall and when you unistall you will still have moniter use,  so  being confident, followed the unistalled instrcutions, and when the computer restarted up so i could now install the new driver the graghics where smashed up at the top of my sceen in a inch strip , my word at that moment well, somthing about my pants being filled with poo, that im scrowed, but upluging the computer two, or three time it finlly cam up with the screen, where i could see it ,
It will look like it does in safe mode , just go install new driver ,
