As i posted before im thinking of getting poser4.I have just read a review and it said that the program was very cumbersome to use in that when trying to move the head to a different position they moved an eyeball instead. lol! they also said when adjusting the eyes they dont move together? to make matters worse theres no undo button. The other thing is why is the pro pack more expensive than the main program that seems strange. i need more input from you poser users as that review as put me off a bit.(well alot) thanx

You could try out the demo before deciding. You won't be able to save or export, but it will give you a feel for the program. You can download from the Curious Labs website. Arleen

I strongly recomend Poser 4! It is the best software application or game I have purchased. It is surprisingly powerfull. I have yet to see any one use it to it's fullest potential that I can percieve. The eyes do move seperatly as for selecting a body part to modify that is easy, and should you have troubles you can use a pull down menue to specify the body part. As for moving the eyes seperatly ya you do have to move them seperatly if the are not "following" the head movment. But I see that as a strength and not a shot coming. (give you more control) No Undo, that is right but; I have yet to need an undo button. As for using morphs or coordinates or scales Just put it back your self, the Key frame editor will also allow you to delete key frame specified. For the price you can't go wrong. The thing to remember is that it is for Character Animation, not modeling or animation in general (Though I have used it for all three). TrueSpace 4, has some plug ins that would provide similiar functions as poser but I suspect Poser is much beter. Poser is far cheaper then 3D Studios Character Studio or say Maya or some thing like that. Hope this helps. Also Renderosity is the best on line community for 3d I have found and it seems to have a lot to offer for poser. Just look at the free stuff or the market place. Deimos.

I have an undo button. Also, One of Poser's greatest strength is all the ready-to-use content that comes with it, as well as a massive amount of ready-to-use content available here and other sites for sale and for free. In other programs if you want a human character, you have to build it, texture it, and rig it yourself. It could be months before you can start animating it. Hope this helps.

Actually you can move both eyes at once. Just select point at, on the object menu. I use the auxillary cammera but doesn't matter as long as there pointing at the same thing. Then rotate that puppy to where ever you like and both eyes will track it. As for grapping the wrong thing it can happen. If your a real stickler there is a menu for each figures component parts. You can move the models parts around by pushing and pulling with the mouse or use the dials. It's just a matter of preference. Personaly I don't think 3D gets any easier than Poser but try the demo and decide for your self.

There is an undo up in the Edit menu, but it doesn't always work. I've used it when I accidentally posed the shirt instead of the body, for instance. It will return it back to it's starting point before you moved the wrong piece. I can't imagine my life WITHOUT Poser now. I'm a hard core addict. I work with it a little bit everyday. It's just so much fun. Creating people out of your imagination is just so unbelievable. I use it to help me visualize the characters I create in my written stories. I've actually discovered things about my characters I never knew until I created them in Poser. I highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to Poser 5. I only hope it's all we're expecting. Melanie

I must of made a mistake about the undo, I guess I just don't use it.

Thanx for all your infor ,yes i did download the demo ringbearer and had a fiddle with it. It does seem an easy interface to use and it should give me an extra dimension to my photoshop and bryce images and i will more than likely buy it soon. But having said that i have heard of poser5 now, it may be better for me to wait for that but i've know idea when its to be released, can anyone answer this. thanx again.

There aren't really even rumors about Poser 5 yet. Curious Labs hasn't announced anything yet. I'm sure we're still a few months away from hearing anything official, and several months away from it actually being available.

In the meantime, there was a free copy of Poser 3 on a back issue of PC World magazine. I'm sure they have a web site, but I don't know the URL (I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you what it is). Maybe you can get a back issue copy of it in the meantime. It's a full, unlimited version. It's only v3, which doesn't have transparency and a few other things (it won't support Vicki and Mike), but at least you can get oriented with the interface and how the elements work in it. The only drawback is that there's no manual and the upgrade offer is only good in the UK, but at least you could get started learning it until P5 comes out. But as for the missing manual, you can always get help here in the discussion forum. There are lots of folks who are very nice and extremely patient and generous with helping newbies. Melanie
