Seems that once again this is a set of morphs of the M4 figure.  Good luck modeling clothes for this guy, anything with detailed trims or belts or whatever will be a major pain.  I guess when SP4 is finally released that'll be a morph of V4 as well.

nope. still out of all proportion with any real human. (look at it next to v4. she's totally nonhuman to start with........)

I'll as usual pass.

pjz99 ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2009 at 2:12 PM

Well to be fair, the Freak versions were never intended to be realistic, they're basically out there for people who want to mimic The Hulk or other hyper-exaggerated characters.

Non human to Super human was the poin to the freak, I thought, and if he is a M4 morph, with the built in scaling the hand a feet complaint re F3 should be no more. But I am quite confident foks will find somthing new to focus on. I am looking forward to picking him up tonight!!

Edited to add, You beat me to the punch pjz99

Some of the testers and developers also hint at M4 Creature Morphs, but I guess they will be released, "soooooooooon".

If he would be realistic he does not be a "Freak"
IMO looks like Apollo Maximus muscle morph.

Either he inhuman, or he's modelled after Brock Lesnar. (How funny that one of their very first characters for M4 is named "Brock," although in truth one or two of the base M4 images look more like Lesnar than the namesake character.)

The bundle is a VERY good deal. It's only a buck more than the (included) M4 Casual Wear set (well, for us Plat folk), plus textures by Sarsa and Morris, and a hairstyle? (Not that the hairstyle looks all that appealing to me, but still.)

Especially the women or what´s left of them freak me out.

If you wan´t to add some real muscles to V4 try out my Freak for V4 Package. It´s free and it also includes Creature morphs and Vittorio for M4. Usage instructions inside, you need the original morphs to decode the files.

That first guy [the white guy in the two-photo post by BB] looks like he has tumors not muscles.  I agree with the Photoshop theory.

The first guy is a photoshop job, if you look at the background, you can see the distortion. I´m not so sure about the others most of them look real, this can´t be healthy.

pjz99 ( ) posted Wed, 19 August 2009 at 12:05 PM

Yeah very likely those first pics are photoshopped.  Look at where the arms actually attach to the torso - you will never find a human skeleton that is proportioned like that.  The guy in the second pic is very probably Will Harris, a pro bodybuilder, but he doesn't have that crazy proportion going on in most of his other pics.  Did his pelvis grow?

This man has the physique of a modern comicbook superhero. Massive upper torso  but not so massive lower torso. I can't tell but I am guessing this is not photoshopped. There was a documentary (I didn't catch it) about guys trying to look like and have the bodies of comic book superheroes.

This guy looks like the marvel character " Luke Cage" come  alive (I'm such a nerd for knowing that name ;P ). He even wears a hat like the comic book character.

-Morbo will now introduce the candidates - Puny Human Number One, Puny Human Number Two, and Morbo's good friend Richard Nixon.

PJ is right. It is Will Harris, and it's not photoshopped.

He's got a fantastic physique no doubt, the videos are the things to really watch with these guys.  His biceps are pretty clearly not as large as his head, but in the pic above they're much bigger.  Part of that might be blamed on the perspective of the pic, but I think it's been manipulated.  In particular look at the proportion of his hands in the video at 1:10, versus the photo.

But in the pic above, he also looks 20 years younger. It's probably photoshopped. I can't tell. Not my area of expertise.

There is some truly sad and disturbing stuff out there.  One guy in particular stands out in the world of wonky physiques.  Greg Valentino:

Who can explain fetishes and taste? I suppose we all have a brief amount of morbid curiosity, but I don't know what it is that makes people want to collect such monstrous pictures. You see pics like that and think yikes. I guess though it is better than kiddie porn. I am glad that I don't have many patients with steroid related heart disease. I pity the next generation of cardiac specialists.

This rollout at DAZ seems to have much less extra content available for the figure. And I don't think Freak 4 is as polished looking a figure as Freak 3. I have F4 and some stuff for it in my cart, but I haven't seen anything that makes me want to push the buy button. I may just clear it out and download the PS free Freak 4 base figure, and wait.

Regarding Freak 4, I have read about scaling problems when this character is used in Poser versus Daz Studio. These posts don't actually say what the scaling problems are. Can anyone here elaborate?

Thanks

CauriBlackthorne ( ) posted Thu, 20 August 2009 at 9:31 AM

This Greg Valentino guy is a wackjob, he´s lucky to still be alive.
I recently read an article about freak shows in the early 20th century when there was no reality-tv or internet to satisfy the morbid curiosity of the people. The so called freaks used to travel from town to town and sell postcards of themselves to make some money. The article is in german and can be found here: http://einestages.spiegel.de/static/topicalbumbackground/4755/freakshow_um_1900.html .
I bought the freak 4 pro bundke mostly because of the skintextures, clothing and hair that can also be used on a "normal" looking m4 or h4. The first test renders of the skin textures look quite good so I don´t regret buying it yet.

Acadia ( ) posted Thu, 20 August 2009 at 10:42 AM

Don't forget to look for the pink tutu that Daz is offering this week.  An odd article of clothing for a figure with bulges in all of the wrong places!  LOL

Apparently Freak 4's own clothes don't fit him in Poser when the Freak scale is on. Even magnets won't help. The temporary solution so far is to parent the clothes and pose them same way as the figure. Which is what we had to do with M4 clothes when testing Freak 4, btw, since we (most of us anyway) didn't get any Freak 4 outfits to test with him.
