is exactly what I would go for - what's the point of anything else? :)

Funny, just yesterday I googled "crazy clouds" because I wanted to find out how far mother nature would actually go. And finally I spent about 2 hours watching some incredible and fantastic shots of clouds.
And I also thought that many people would probably shy away from using such clouds because they look so different from what we are used to see.
On the other hand Gill received many raving comments for her picture "Eria" where she used a stacked lenticular cloud.
Artpearl, you are so right.
Anyway, I have checked your link, Arraxxon. Those Morning Glory clouds are quite impressive.
In fact I have seen them before and they were on the list of clouds I wanted to build in Vue.
So seeing your post I decided to give it a try (see below).

Thanks, Cherryman :-)
Just checked out the link(s) you provided. Agree they`re absolutely stunning.
Now, you might think Im crazy but I
m convinced that all those clouds could possibly be created in Vue (although its a hell of a challenge). The point is that you have to use the function editor to create them, because the spectral cloud model is somewhat limited. Creating such clouds requires that you can freely displace, distort your shapes and this is not possible with the current model, except when you use it along with the function editor. As I said, it
s a challenge and its not trivial, but it
s possible.
Below are a couple of examples, which do not resemble the ones in your links. Nevertheless they show a bit of what can be achieved.

Superb realization, eonite ! And your other cloud creations are fantastic and very interesting, too !
I agree with you both, eonite and Tubbritt, a lot of people viewing clouds looking this odd way in a 3D image probably would position them in a fantasy or surreal themed genre ...
But like ArtPearl mentioned, something like this for sure will draw attention, because looking quite different from the used to be norm ...
... really nice to have a powerful program like Vue, where we can simulate reality or just use our imagination ...

Thanks, Arraxxon :-) A hell of a lot of time went into developing those.

Absolutely. I like this moment of surprise, when you look at a picture and you discover something you didn`t expect.

Yes, indeed.

Quote - "Just one thing bothers me - take a look at the date on the photo in Arraxxon's link !!"
Huh? I see "11 august 2009". Was there some other date somewhere?
An obvious typo that's now been corrected. Originally it was 'September 2009'

Thanks, Rutra! :-)
I wish I knew as much as you know about all other aspects of Vue...

Well, we know, we really can produce realistic, abstract or monumental looking clouds using the great Vue cloud system.
But real nature can do astonishing stuff, too !
Take a look at this real photo of a weird cloud formation, called 'Morning Glory Cloud' :

and more details about it here:

A basic Vue preset atmosphere seems to be coming close to this weird, but controlled looking formation - in the atmosphere 'Physical' folder called 'Blue Poluted' ... ( for sure you can come closer than this with Vue's features ...
