Subject: looking for footprints of astronauts brushes or at least how to create these.

Is there an easy way to create boot prints of astronauts walking on the moon etc? I need these for both right and left boots and also a way to put these pointing in any direction. Any help would be most welcome.

Thanks,

David

your best bet is to have a wire frame of them done in a 3d program and add a texture to them -  this is the only way i am able to pull something like this off when i need the flexibility to rotate (change direction/orientation) the object...

other wise you'd have to make a brush for each foot, and each direction/variation...

hope it helps to point you in the right direction.

Google image search, look for astronauts footprints, then make your own brushes out of the best you can find. The larger the image you can get, the better. Best advice I can think of. That's what I did when I needed to make some footprints in snow for a project. I didn't make a brush, I made a displacement map, but same principle.

That's the best advice I could give too rgarding creating the brush. As per chaging the direction of each footstep, here is the solution if you own a wacom intuos: get yourself a wacom 6D art marker pen. The marker pen will allow to rotate the direction of the brush just by rotating it in your hand. I hope this helps.

You might also google for astronaut's boots. Get a picture of the soles. I didn't stop to think that images of actual footprints on the moon might be somewhat hard to find. There's one famous print photo, I know, and may be others, but it may be easier to find images of the actual boot soles.
