As markschum says. The trick is to get the angles right.
Try leaning the figure forward and slanting the towel so the
edge where it first meets the neck is the lower part of the towel.
You want to give the towel a chance to fold up against the
neck and shoulders before the rear part starts to drape.
Also, the Marble node plugged into Bump makes a very
good terry-cloth texture. Scale the Marble down until its
swirls look very small.

markschum, thanks. I'll have to look at the primitives, which I've never paid much attention to.
fivecat: No, really??
ockham: thanks, yeah it's the peculiarity of angles that I was wondering about. Was curious if there was something that needed to be put "into shape" before such a simulation would work. In which case, it would be nice if a modeller had done some of that aspect of the legwork.

you can either run two simulations and export the cloth at the end of one . import it for the start of the second. Or you can learn to use the choreographeed group to help contol drape and positioning.
example. cloth around neck , ends draped down chest of M4.
Mihoshi, thanks for that link. It's not the sort of thing I'm thinking of at the moment, but good reference.
Markschum, that looks pretty good.

While not really dynamic, there is an A3 Towel Set at Daz. I've used it on other figures such as V4 as can be seen here.

You obtain weird mess after many hours of calculation. This is 2 sided mesh, which does not work well as a dynamic. I've used this towell as a dynamic but first edited it in modeling program. On the pic you see original towell and one sided.
Thanks. I do have a lifetime membership there.
Honestly, though - while the one around Michael's waste looks pretty good, the draped ones in that render....

No luck here or at ShareCG.... looking for a dynamic towel that would wrap around the neck and drape down the chest on each side (I'm assuming that's possible to do in the Cloth Room).
Any ideas?
