That last shot is gorgeous and the number of lights must be some sort of record. Great job with this!

I really enjoy seeing all these Christmas decorations...inside and out. No inside decorations in my house this year except for a very small tree and I only brought out one string of lights and one box of ornaments for it. With no family and no visitors this year, it seemed like a lot of trouble for just me and my daughter. And we don't have many outside lights or decorations in my part of town. A few...but they tend to get stolen at night so most people don't bother. I see them when I drive home from work at night. Some of the older, historic areas have the most lovely light shows. But seeing all this holiday fare here is an added treat!

Envy mostly. Not just envy directed at the people they steal from. Envy complicated by lack of self control and the knowledge of what is right and what is wrong. A society filled with instant gratification beings who were never made to be responsible for their own actions.... Its sad.

Those window reflections have a magical feel. A mix of big and small that has a consistent mood.

Outstanding. I always have difficulty with noise in my nightshots. I love the way this cleans up without distortion.

The Christmas decorations on the street poles show only slightly but I like the quiet mid evening scene of small town street.
PJ, Family participation is what I felt in my previous photo but those words eluded me when I did the post. I can hear a child saying, "Daddy, can I put my lights over here.." That was nice.
This was shot at ISO500, F/5.6, 1/20 sec, vibration reduction.
a big winky-dink atcha, Tom. And this is another really cozy shot too. I love quiet small town streets - after dark...holidays... comfy.

This is a nice thread with many neat points of view of the holidays.Too bad for us who have used up our allotment of posts since New Years is coming up! Maybe we need 3 posts for each holiday...
All in all, I look forward to any new additions to this challenge. I always learn something about my photography from these challenges...
oh my gosh!!
I baked 18 dozen cookies and received another 3 dozen for holiday gifts and STILL, looking at this, I want to eat every last one!
The pov is a knock-out and if I put my mouth to the bottom edge of my monitor, I think I can tilt the screen just enough so that all over these goodies fall into my mouth!

Some people call them hips. Some people call them battleships. I just call them space barriers...and they work equally as well at the buffet table as they do during Black Friday shopping at the Mall! :scared:
Tom...? I think there is one treat left on the cookie plate... I'll toss a coin with ya for it! :tt2:
