Did you mean Antonia?Laurie
Quote - Perhaps if the P4 mannequin were remapped to take V4 textures....
Hmmm...
Yeah, I'm kidding too...lolol. ;o)
Laurie
Do not look to me to do that. V4 is a 3D abortion from the word GO! BTW, I have just started this morning in making a remapped AntoniaV3, so you can restore the thread. And yes, Posette is one very good figure, but there is always room for improvement.

Unless there are plans of changing the Mesh itself, then then whatever I remap should be OK. Is the final mesh object out yet or not? What more changes are envisioned with this figure?

I'm pretty sure I won't change the mesh anymore, except maybe for little repairs that should not hurt the mapping. There's always the small chance that someone finds a hidden flaw, and a vertex or two need to be pushed in one direction or other. But if that should happen, it's easy to merge any existing mapping into the modified object file, so that shouldn't hold you up. We already have two mappings and quite a few morphs, all of which would have to be fixed if I changed the base mesh in a radical way, so I am highly motivated to keep it as it is.
That said, my last "minor" repair was to change the size of the eyes by 30% percent and reshape the eye-sockets accordingly. I don't think the slight texture distortion that produced will be evident, but if one is a perfectionist, it might lead to some dissatisfaction.

I notice on the latest Antonia that there are two mesh objects: Antonia-117.obj and Antonia-117-lo.obj
Which of these two should be remapped first, as the standard?

Ah, I'm glad you mentioned that. There's the low- and the high-poly version, 10k vs. 40k, approximately. If you remap one, I can automatically generate a mapping for the other. So I suggest you start with Antonia-117-lo.obj, since it has a much smaller number of vertices to push around.
Also, I just remembered that I hadn't uploaded the latest version of the mesh (the one with the smaller eyes) anywhere yet. As I said, it shouldn't make much of a difference, but if you want, I can try to get it online (I'm not at home and don't know what the upstream speed of our internet connection here is).

If you could just send it to me direct, that would be better: dphoadley2@yahoo.com. If you say that that remapping the Lo version can suffice for both, then that's good news. I'm right this moment in the midst of remapping M4, and I'd like to take a break on something different.
BTW, any possibility of adapting your Cr2 to Posette (I really do enjoy working with her, she's pretty and has a dynamite hour-glass figure), or Posette's clothes (so as to automatically increase the wardrobe for Antonia).
dph

Okay, I emailed you the mesh. Actually, the upload seemed to go faster than what I'm used to from home. Good to know!
I'm hoping that it will be possibly to convert clothing from other figures to Antonia via Wardrobe Wizard and such. But I haven't really looked into that much. Not sure what you mean by adapting the Cr2 to Posette. Make Posette bend like Antonia, or make poses from Posette work on Antonia? I think both could be done, but those are projects for some other day.
I think the biggest advantage of Antonia is that there are no copyright issues to worry about, so she's the ideal figure to go experimenting with new ideas and then share what you've come up with. So I'm basically concentrating on the things that interest me and that I like to have in a figure. But someone else might give it a completely different twist, and there'd be nothing holding them back.

Olaf, which version did you send him, the latest 118 version (that's only on the Dev site otherwise), or the 117 version with the original mapping?
Just curious, because for what he's doing I think he'd find it easier to work on the more recent version, and being that some of the material zones have changed, he should probably know what's what.

Antonia-120-lo.obj
Need morphs to open the mouth though, so that when I remap the teeth and innermouth I can check the results.

MikeJ: The 120 mesh isn't online, anywhere, which is why you don't know about it. The only difference to 117 is the smaller size of the eyes. I just thought since David is making a new mapping from scratch, it would be better if he used the latest mesh. I'll upload the complete 120 version with all the new JCMs and such in the second half of January.
David: If you have P6 or later, you can use JOELGLAINE's open mouth morph. There's a PMD injection pose called MorphsJGL-INJ under Pose/Antonia/Morphs. There's also the one that MikeJ made, which he'll probably be happy to send you if you ask. It's also up on the developers site, if I remember correctly. I'll be sending you an invitation for that shortly.

The injection morphs don't work on the lo-rez, at least not in Poser Pro.
dph
STOP PALESTINIAN CHILD ABUSE!!!! ISLAMIC HATRED OF JEWS
Smooth out the ears a bit more too, and the chin on the lo-rez. Some might want her to be their figure of choice, rather than the Hi-rez one. I can always clone the new head after I do the body.
dph
STOP PALESTINIAN CHILD ABUSE!!!! ISLAMIC HATRED OF JEWS
Yeah, I definitely wish I had been a bit more generous with the polygons on the ears. I think you can get them to look decent if you use "smooth polygons" in Poser and set the angle threshold high enough. If I add geometry there, I'll either make the low- and high-poly heads incompatible to each other or break existing head morphs. So basically, I'll need to come up with fiendish ways to convert the existing morphs automatically first, and then I can fix the ears. That's actually somewhere on my to-do list, but not necessarily very high up.
Except for that, I think I have enough mesh density in most parts of the low-rez figure. So a softening morph might be enough to make it look a bit nicer in Poser. You have to remember that it's only 10k, half the poly count of Posette. She's just not made to look great in close-ups.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
OK, then see if you can generate an intermediate figure between the Hi and Lo mesh, something like V2 or Judy were between Posette and V3. frankly the Hi-rez looks too dense for my kind of work, where even scenes with a couple of Judy's, a couple of Dorks, a couple of P4 Horses, along with conforming clothes, saddles, etc, tended to be difficult to render.
Not long ago, I did a bare bones scene with just three of my remapped Mike2's, along with Swat Gear, and it took an hour to render. Try to keep meshes low over braod surfaces, and high where there's a lot of animation being done, such as around the mouth and lips, but less across the belly, thighs, and back.

Look at his render for example: www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1895800
That's actually lo-rez Antonia. If you look closely, you see that she's not perfectly smooth, but in a larger scene, I think she would do pretty well.
