Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 03 12:46 am)
I've no idea so I.....................
Loaded figure.
Posed figure with hand on hip.
Turned on IK chain for arm.
Rotated chest.---------> Hand stayed on hip.
Chain break on hand.
Rotated chest.---------> Hand stayed on hip.
Twisted shoulder ------------> Hand stayed on hip
Bent forearm ----------------> Hand stayed on hip.
Turned off IK and hand released from hip.
What did you get when you tried it?
What is it that you are trying to do?
Chain Break tool has nothing to do with figure IK, I believe they're actually incompatible. Chain Break interacts with the Translate posing tool (read the fine manual about this).
PhilC, You pointed out what I am trying to do in your first example, which is poser V4 so that her hand stays on her hip as I move/pose the rest of her.:
Loaded figure.
Posed figure with hand on hip.
Turned on IK chain for arm.
Rotated chest.---------> Hand stayed on hip.
However, even though I am trying to do this, for some reason it's not working...
pjZ99, that's what I thought...I pretty much have the figure Ik theory all set in my mind... but the chain break theory escapes me....

If you never use the Translate GUI posing tool, you won't see any use for the Chain Break tool; what the Translate tool does, is give you like a non-defined IK chain that is arbitrary from whatever body part you drag, down to whatever the root bone is (normally the hip) or the first Chain Break it hits.

Ok, please tell me if I am correct in this...If I apply a chain break to the hand of Victoria 4 which is on her hip, and move either her upper or forearm, then the hand will stay on the hip correct?
