It's the center of Poser's, It appears to be...at least. Metaphysicaly speaking, the real center of the universe is EVERYWHERE since the big bang expanded the universe to billions of light years in size. Poser is a different can of worms.

I would say it is, unless and/or until the ground prop is itself moved off center.

*** POP QUIZ ***Is the center of the GROUND (prop) at the center of the Universe?**
No, it isn't. :-)
Bizarrely, the ground prop itself is modelled at Y = -0.37499991 PNU. I have no idea why. Poser is hard-coded to load it at Y = -0.1, if I remember right. (EDIT: no, I just checked; it's -0.001) Again, I have no idea why.
The centre of the ground prop is at X = 0, Z = 0 however.
@ EnglishBob
Ah, you are absolutely correct grasshopper.
Poser's GROUND prop can be moved left and right using the DollyX parameter and ...
... can be moved backwards and forwards using the DollyZ parameter but ...
... Poser's GROUND prop is at a fixed yTran location of -0.001 Pnu.
(note that it is a MINUS (-) value)
Can it be changed?

Why sure. Just edit the PZ3 to make the dollyY dial visible (alter hidden 1 to hidden 0) and remove the limits, of course. You can see in the editor screenshot how it gets fixed at -0.001. Both limits are set to the same figure, and that's where it stays. Set forceLimits to 0, and if you want to operate with limits on you should also set the min value to something big and negative, and the max value to something big and positive.

I tried doing an experiment to find out, but succeeded only in thoroughly confusing myself. I'll wait for the answer on that one, I think...

Hey ... Here's a good idea ...
Make sure your prop in in the (exact) correct position and location and then ...
LOCK IT !!! ... [menu] "Object" >>> "Lock Actor"
Now we can't move it by accident ... like ... by clicking on it. :scared: __ Oh NOOOooo... !!!

Why did Doc Geep use the Wireframe Display Style instead of one of the other ones that, also, show the lines?

Dear Dr. Geep;
Did you know that WALLA! - וואלא! is actually an Israeli Hebrew language search engine, just like Google?
Yes it is: וואלא!

WOW ! ... That's totally cool! ... Now, if only I knew Hebrew.
Thanks dph.

P.S. For all you avid followers of da NaySayGuy ou there ...
"Walla!" is the English version of the French "Voila!" which, roughly translated means:
"There it is!" ... "There you have it!" ... "Lookie there!" ... or something else similar.

Quote - Aw, you peaked, er, peeked ... right through it !
You're absolutely CORRECT!
No, but that's HOW I start out when cloning someone's head from a photo. 1st I set the figure's head to wireframe, so that I can then line up the mexh with the photos.
dph

Quote - Wire you doing it that way?
Because that is the method that I learned from Duane Moody, and it has worked for me so far. If you collect enough face MT's, you can do a fairly tolerable job on any figure. The problem with face room is that it requires Mug Shots, and unless a person has committed a crime, mug shots are very seldom available. -Nor does P5 and higher face room work with P4 Posette, my usual figure of choice.

***** POP QUIZ #1 *******
Q. Why did we make a new prop instead of just change the name?**
A. A New Prop resets all the parameters, e.g., we made yTran = 0.000 without moving the prop.***** POP QUIZ #2 ******
Q. What did Doc do in the Material Room?
A. Yes, we UNchecked the "Shadow catch only ... **Q. Why did he do it?**
A. ....so that duplicated props would not have "Shadow catch only" checked.

In Poser Pro, you can duplicate a prop without having to refer to the grouping tool. Just select the prop or object or figure even that you want to duplicate, ane then click on Edit on the overhead menu bar, and you'll sell your prop listed on it. Click on this, and your prop will be automatically duplicated. No need to load it anew from the Libraries Pallet, or to make a NEW prop from the grouping tool.
dph
STOP PALESTINIAN CHILD ABUSE!!!! ISLAMIC HATRED OF JEWS
It duplicates the prop exactly as it is. However, since I'm now making my own work box from your tut, I discovered that the Ground Plane is not a prop. I first had to use the grouping tool to make a prop, before I could duplicate it for the two walls, via the Edit Menu.

For some reason, when I used the drop to floor command on my work box base, it gave me a Y axis reading of 000:009. Is Poser Pro different from your version? -Or did I do something wrong?
dph
STOP PALESTINIAN CHILD ABUSE!!!! ISLAMIC HATRED OF JEWS
I think that I figured out the problem. You need to start your tutorial by telling everybody that they need to change their general preferences in the edit menu to Poser Native Units. Mine was set a feet.
dph
STOP PALESTINIAN CHILD ABUSE!!!! ISLAMIC HATRED OF JEWS
Oops, sorry 'bout that ... I thought I covered that on Page 1.
I guess I should have been more specific. Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you found the problem.
That is why I use Poser native units because, like the metric system, conversion from small to large is easy. Just move the decimal point. Well, almost, because the feet to inches is still a bit of a problem, n'est ps?

Also, when I did it, the inverted cone when dropped to floor insisted on saying that it was at 0.100, and this was after I'd switched over to PNU's. Another anomaly between your version and mine.
Question: Do we also export the cone, or leave it separate, and then parent it to the re-imported WorkBox? I'm thinking that Mapped on UV Mapper Pro, this could also serve as a set prop.
dph
STOP PALESTINIAN CHILD ABUSE!!!! ISLAMIC HATRED OF JEWS
Um, ..... not quite ...
We interrupt this tutorial to address Mr. Hoadly's observation that the cone "insisted" that it was at 0.100 yTran. We shall atemp to explain why this occurs.
Note - Our normally scheduled tutorial programming shall resume shortly.
