Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 1:20 pm)
thanks. I have not edited the scene file but it sounds like I am going to have to edit it to fix the problem :-(
I just looked at the file and these reference come under the prop "GROUND"
Should I remove the whole prop or just teh lines like:
textureMap NO_MAP
bumpMap NO_MAP
reflectionMap NO_MAP
transparencyMap NO_MAP
and also under "shader tree" section, references like:
file NO_MAP
Thanks again!
I doubt you'll find a bad one. This is just a random bug I've seen. I run into it a lot because I have many generic shaders with blank image map nodes. I load these and then fill in the image later.
Saving a scene with one of these in it is very likely to trigger the erroneous request for NO_MAP.
Also, be aware, since you're looking in the file manually, that every node mentions NO_MAP, even if that type of node is not an Image_Map or Movie node. I don't know why Poser writes all this useless info. Very strange.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
Thanks, I searched for NO_MAP and "NO_MAP" so and there are none with quotes so it's not that problem.
bagginsbill's decription sounds like what I am experiencing.
Everything was working fine, I have been adding props and characters etc. to my scene over the last several days - then all of a sudden, when I open my scene now, poser asks to find NO_MAP
Thanks again for all the suggestions, I will keep on investigating how to fix this :-(
Robin.
I've wondered if adding a file to the main runtime textures called NO_MAP, or perhaps NO_MAP.jpg, would solve it. I don't see this error too often so I can't tell if I've fixed it even if I try.

This may make things worse, but it's just a thought - have you tried actually locating a file when asked for NO_MAP? Even a little one pixel image would be enough: make one and save it in the root of your textures folder for future use. But do try it out on a copy of the scene first, in case it breaks something.

I have a scene with many elements in it.
When I load it I get a popup window that says Please locate "NO_MAP"
Obviously one of the elements is missing something but how can I find out which one so I can find the correct reference?
Thanks!
Robin.
