Laurie A, the dress is really nice.

Does anyone know how to use the dress Laurie A posted as a dynamic clothing in D|S?

BluEcho, I think I better improve the top for more "extreme" movements.  Nice picture!

I think Antonia is more athletic than Victoria, I better make her some activewear.

amy_aimei,

I have had a quick look at the BeachVolleyballTop, and the specific problem on the shoulder straps that happens in the LegUp pose with the hands behind the head. It seemed to me to be a joint parameter problem, so I played around until I found a fix. The problem with changing a JP, is that in fixing one problem, it is easy to create others. After a quick check I can't see any new problems, but I do not have time for really thorough testing of the fix.

[edit]
In the Joint Editor I changed the 'Static A' parameter in the 'Swing' channel of the Left Shoulder to a value of 139.735 (see image above) ,  then used Symmetry Left to Right to copy the PJs to the other shoulder.

not possible, the dynamic clothes of DS are different, you need some specials tools to create a dynamic clothe for DS, currently only Optitex or DAZ own these tools

Which annoys me to no end...  I'm gonna be the first PA to jump on that when they finally release the creator softwear/plugin and I'll make DS and Poser version of everything...  I wish they'd get off their butts.  >.<   I can't even use DS dynamics right now anyway since I use 64 bit.. and I refuse to install 32 bit just to use the one piece of DS dynamic I've bought.   I may install 32bit ds3-free on my laptop for testing purposes and convert that one item to obj so I can use it in Poser.

sazzyazzca ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2010 at 12:29 PM

I do set up everything in DS, and because I generally end up tweaking poses, use the Poser Format Exporter script to save the tweaked pose. Then I run the simulation in Poser using my tweaked pose, export the resulting obj of the clothing item, and then import the obj into DS.

Very nice work everyone! Thanks for the new goodies :D

That so thoroughly sucks that D|S doesn't treat dynamic clothing in a similar way as Poser :o(.

Indeed, very poor marketing.  To go this route successfully, they should have made the tools to create dynamic cloth available for free, or for a nominal fee...

yeah.. I really don't like it..  if the designer program was available, even for a cost, it wouldn't be so bad..  I was excited at first about ds dynamics but the way it's been implimented is not great.

Believable3D ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2010 at 3:17 PM

Yup. Doesn't make DS dynamics very tempting to the user, either, since you can't just "dynamify" (virtually) any object like in Poser.

**bagginsbill**

After making the geom injection files for your BBEyes v2, I was having some problems with a dark ring round the iris when rendered in P6, but got distracted by other projects. Someone approached me recently having what seemed to be the same problem in P8.

The issue, if it is an issue, and not some mistake we are making, is a dark ring around the iris.

In the above image, the 'PM:Rim Shadow' node is set to zero. 'Casts Shwdow' is off for the Eye and Eye Cover. This is a P6 FireFly render with Raytracing enabled, and two Raytrace bounces. The texture map is applied to both the Eye and EyeCover.

Is this something we are doing wrong, or an issue with the shader or geometry? Any help much appreciated.

I am dying to get Antonia but I am having trouble downloading her. The page at
http://www.german-3d.com/Antonia_Polygon/index.html . is a bit messed up and I'm not sure which of the two downloads I need..... or is it both? Another problem I'm having is that the download keeps on cutting out on me, I'm not sure if it's my pathetic service provider or not.

Any help would be so great!!

Thanks a lot

A couple of morphs I did today. I'll upload them tomorrow.

odf ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2010 at 7:18 PM

sylki: The download button at the top is for the Antonia figure. You can also get her at the link that's shown in my signature. The other download button is for the texture (which you can't get from the other site). I could read the page better when I scaled it down with Ctrl-minus. Apparently the fonts show up larger on some browsers than they were intended to.

I've just started a test download of the texture (which is the larger download) and get around 20 minutes as the expected download time. That can be a problem if your internet connection is not very stable. I suggest you use some application or browser extension that can resume interrupted downloads. If you use Firefox, I recommend the DownThemAll extension.

By the way: after exchanging some IMs with PhilC, I've decided to finish the hands and feet first, after all. It seems like quite a few people have been picking up Antonia recently, and I think WW support would be a great thing to have. So I'm making finalizing the body geometry and joint setup a priority now, which needs to happen before Phil can do his magic.

I've started to work on a better hand shape yesterday. It's mostly just smoothing the fingers a bit, but also fixing some small issues at the joints and giving the thumb some more love. When that's done, I'll make it available as a full-body morph so you guys can test it. I might do a similar thing with the toes if I decide to fine-tune their shapes as well. I'll also do some work on the JPs, mostly for the toes, but maybe also some little things for the fingers, and possibly add JCMs for the toes.

Hmmm... so far I have not a lot hope about it as the software that is able to creat DS dynamic clothes is made by the company that creates the dynamic clothes for DAZ. Why should they want to sell a tool to other creators that at the moment gives them a kind of monopole?

I did not think about that... may it be useful to break up the texture set into two or more pieces?

Well, on the other hand I've done a test with DownThemAll: started a download, killed the browser, restarted the browser and resumed the download. That worked like a charm, which I think means that your server must support that kind of thing. For someone with a flaky internet connection using a tool like DownThemAll really makes much more sense than us splitting the files into tiny portions, in my opinion. Or am I missing something?

Cough... cough... I hate to bring this up, as you have more than enough on your plate already, but I feel that the tongue is a also something else that needs attention, before the rig and geometry is finalised. I don't feel that the current two part tongue works very well (Have you tried poking it out through her lips then bending it?). I feel that there are issues with the rigging, grouping, topology, and perhaps UVs.

It is (yet again) too late at night to go into details. I will try to say more tomorrow. I just wanted to foreshadow the fact that I am likely to become an unbearable pest over the tongue in the next few days.

Then again, perhaps the tongue is not relevant to WW, but I thought I had better raise it now, rather than wait till it is too late.

Believable3D ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2010 at 10:15 PM

I was just going to say: not relevant to WW. And there, you said it.

I think that finalizing the body geometry and rigging is a great idea, if it means that PhilC (and perhaps EvilInnocence) will provide support sooner. I'm sure that the relative paucity of clothing is going to hold a few people back from using Antonia; and if the changes for the foreseeable future would just be in the head, it wouldn't be a big deal (I presume).

it does NOT contain any morphs! Only a navel gone magnet. And a buttload of textures!

The face in the promo pics is the result of Cage's Morph Transfer Script, coupled with V3's head morphs. Hence, the reason why the face morph can't be shared :(

Sorry for the double post but the first one didn't show up until your letter:-(

I'm using the latest Daz3 ...3.0.120! Is there a newer one than this?

It sounds like it's looking for a PMD file, but there isn't one in the archive.  I 'm not at my Poser machine, but I don't recall any issues with the oldUV version in Poser...

The current version is 3.0.1.144 , available here:

According to the DAZ website, 3.0.1.144 is the latest.

By the way, I tried loading the figure after removing all the 'useBinaryMorph' lines from the cr2, but got the same effect (Version 3.0.1.135). I don't know that those lines do anything useful, but they don't seem to cause the problem, either.
