Subject: Major Michael 4.0 problems

charlesatlas ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2010 at 4:35 PM · edited Mon, 20 January 2025 at 8:58 AM

Hello

I am working with Poser 2010 (that search feature is excellent) and am having problems with Michael 4.0.

First of all it wont install into Poser Pro so I had to install it to Poser 8..the problem is when I open MIchael 4 in Poser Pro and especially Maya..it asks for every feature and I have to go and find them and that takes forever..any way around or a way to install Michael 4 to Poser Pro.....?

Also I purchased the Biosuit for Michael 4 and it doesnt conform well. I hit conform to figure and it did okay but left a lot of loose spots that you have to go and readjust by hand..now I have holes in the gloves and have no idea of how to correct....any ideas?

Also with the biosuit when I move Michael the suit stays on him but the helmet stays in the exact same spot..any ideas on this?

Thank you.

Choose "DAZ Studio" as the install type to avoid the unecessary (and pointless) check for Poser.exe in the Runtime you're trying to install into.

For close fitting clothes you must magnetise them using the poses supplied with M4 (so that the M4's JCMs are applied to the clothing).

Thank you..the product has the libraries you install yourself it doesnt have automatic install.

Will try the magnetise first..although I must admit this is the roughest fitting I have ever done.

Vicky 4 has magnets, but Mike 4 does not. There is no magnetizing with M4.

Hoplaa is correct, there is no magnetize clothes for M4 unless it is introduced with his magnet fit product.  Nonetheless, he is built differently than V4 and conforming clothing respond better.

Which bio-suit are you referring to?  There are so many around and you are vague about which product you purchased.

Is there a fit pose for M4 that came with the Biosuit?

Also, if the M4 parts that poke through are completely hidden by the suit, you could set them to be invisible...

Hello

Its the biosuit from xurge3d.com..it doesnt conform to m4 at all and he sticks thru many places and the gloves have holes in them and after much work it still doesnt comform..plus when I move him the helmet stays in place..and yes I have clicked comform to figure..not sure I understand how to make them invisible because they have that with the biosuit but if I click hands invisible..it just cuts off the hands so he has no hands..

Please advise and thanks everybody for your help.

OK, this set http://xurge3d.com/inc/sdetail/26390

did you run the script after installing M4 ?

It says its in two parts , so load and conform each part.
check that mike 4 has not been morphed to start, no characters applied. The site does not list many full body morphs, doesnt mention morphs by body part.

turn off visibility for any extreme pokethru although it should fit better than that. Make sure its M4 you are making invisible , not the biosuit.

I would contact him via this site link http://xurge3d.com/contact

charlesatlas ( ) posted Sat, 17 April 2010 at 5:07 PM

Yep that set.

It doesnt have each part to apply just two..the suit and the helmet..the suit doesnt fit and the helmet doesnt stay on..I have tried turning off the visibility.

I contacted them with no replies so I posted here.

Thank you for your help and any other ideas would be appreciated.

Okay finally fixed it.

Heres what I did in case you get in this prolem.  I had to go to every part of Michael 4 and make it invisible.  Then I parented the mask to the head and it seems to work...so far.

Thanks everybody for your assistance.

markschum ( ) posted Sat, 17 April 2010 at 5:46 PM

If the helmet shows up as a figure , with more than one body part it should conform to m4 and move with him . If it doesnt try parenting it to the head.

cant really help, I dont have that clothing item.

its annoying when stuff doesnt work as you expect.

I assume you have read the readme to see if there are any special instructions.

The issue with some of  Xurge3D's outfit's is that they do not contain morphing capacity, they are strictly for the base model.  My work around conforming such outfits to morphed characters is to use Morphing Clothes to introduce morphing capacity then copy and paste sttings in Poser.  As Markschum mentioned and you discovered, poke throughs ar eliminated by making the body part underneath invisible unless adjoining parts are actually exposed.  The helmet just sounds like a straight parenting to the head.

markschum ( ) posted Sat, 17 April 2010 at 10:24 PM

I was going to suggest that a conforming item is a figure itself, so if no parts of M4 are visible under the suit, just use the suit.   If the suit has body part neck and head , which it should , you can conform the mask to the suit.

I copied a poser.exe to the 2010 folder and that ended the search for poser.exe when I install anything to 2010. Just a thought to prevent further install hassles.
Good Morning All!
