Apply the text as an image to the figure's texture, then make a negative image and
apply the negative image to the transparency.

I did this a while ago for a card game and it worked pretty well. Just do a transmap on the body and head and write things, the trick is to match scale and deal with distortion. You also might want to have some sort of edge to the surface or not go 100& black.

thanks so very much for both answers. it seems this might be possible after all. but,
i am not sure how do you do things such as :
i will try to read about how to do that - but if you have any quick tips i would be very happy to read them... :-)
you would start with a copy of the figures , or the clothes uv template or seam guide. Those are available for DAZ products on the product page for download.
That template shows you how a painted texture will be applied to the figure. Just load it to a paint program and create an empty layer to draw your text on. delete the template layer , and then save your picture.
Apply the texture in the Poser material room . if you need to start from scratch its right click, new node , 2d , image map . click on the file name area to select your image. Connect the image node to the Diffuse input by clicking and dragging from the top left corner of the image node to the diffuse node. The icon is plug and socket.
same thing for transparency map , except transparency is grey scale with black being transparent and white being visible. Greay shades are partial. Plug that into the transparency node .
there was one exactly as you are looking for but female called newsie who was in the MP hear at renderosity. she was made of newsprint, and she was for V3 and I think V3 textures work on M3 so you could just buy it and make a male character out of M3.
Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

Hi all,
I am wondering if it is possible to create a character that would be built out of handwriting? as if his texture would be made of words?
thanks alot.
