Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 26 2:05 pm)
you put it in the right place by HAND ..and THEN you select Parent to Left or Right Hand ..
Then you Resave it ..as "m16 Lefthand" next time you use it it wil be in his hand were you put it ..
If its not parented in the first place you have to do it yourself..
You can parent and not save it ..but then you need to replace it every time again..

these guns are my weapons of choice. There are guns and poses to put the guns in his hands, eg walking with the gun or firing it, and some for M3, M4, V3 and V4 depending which set you buy. The readme with these products clearly tells you how to do it. Have fun. Don't shoot yoruself in the foot or blow up your runtime. Love estherI aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
I jumped onto this thread after doing a search because I'm having similar weapon posing problems.
I have V4 posed in a firing stance with the WP-38. Okay, after I position the weapon in place, get her to actually hold the weapon and all looks fine. . . until I change poses, the weapon 'slips' from her grip. Even if I just pose her legs and not touch her upper body, the weapon still 'slips' or moves from her grip. I've tried the parenting feature in Poser 8 and when I select 'OKAY' for her right hand--the hand that has the weapon--the WP-38 slips from her grip again.
Even when I have V4 in a zero pose load the WP-38 and select the parent feature, the weapon just floats in space. Is it this particular weapon, or am I doing something wrong.
My bet is, that it's me whose doing something wrong or missing a step.
Any help is much appreciated.
Is the weapon an actual prop or is it smartpropped to a particular model (i.e., M4, etc). If it is smartpropped, import the weapon as an OBJ, position into V4's hand and resave it into the library as a V4 smartprop.
Another method of parenting props, open the hierarchy palette, locate the prop and manually move it to just under the hand body part.
hi all i did was to parent the wepon to the models hand and choose the pose needed i have the army pose set "ice pack" it is great for these type of poses im not sure about v4 but im sure you could purchase some for her.
another great resource is posmocap not plugging it i just realy like it. example if you isolate the walk forward and shot to just were he draws the gun you have a nice anim sequence all done for you.
hope this helps
Hey, thanks for all of your advice guys--but I still can't seem to wrap my head around getting this particular weapon to work in Poser 8.
The darn thing works fine in DAZ3D; pose after pose, V4 or M4--it doesn't matter. I can parent the WP-38, the whole nine years. But in Poser, it just 'floats' around my model.
I know . . . I know . . . the solution to my problem may be to choose a different weapon . . . or to just use DAZ3D when I want my characters to bust a cap with that WP-38.
I am assuming this is the product you are using:
](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=77092I)If it is, the readme file contains additional information concerning the behavior of the gun. Under LibrarieshandWalther_P38 there are poses for left/right hand and underneath shoulder for both M4 and V4. Have you tried these yet?
Yeah, that's the product all right!
When I read your above post i felt kinda stupid.
Then I read the WP-38 readme, and i felt even dumber--if that's possible.
So I dug into my runtime and damned if I couldn't find the hand poses for the WP-38.
So then I checked my download and it didn't contain any hand poses for that weapon, either.
Reckon I'll just have to PM Madd Matt and let him know that I'm missing a couple of files, darn it.
