****** POP QUIZ ******

How many polygons does it take ...
to make the leaded glass windows as shown?

BTW - Harry's real name? ..... Vitorio Haroldus Personovitch
Can you guess why he changed it?

How about 12 for the 2 pieces of glass and none for the crosshatch 'cause it's procedural?
As for Harry's real name? got me...

Hey Doc. Window frame is installed. I did notice that on page 33 that some of the parameters need a little adjusting. Certainly nothing I couldn't figure out on my own. Keep up the good work. Thanks

My tri-focals. I'm sorry there Doc. The error was mine. I adjusted the Z tran on the first box; not the x. I actually couldn't see my error until I redid the frame from. Couldn't see the forest for the trees. Tell Ed that at least I followed the carpenters axiom of measure twice; cut once. Just didn't read the blueprint to correctly to place the cut framing.ย  ;)

Not too happy with the valance at the moment. I'll work on that. The rest is coming along nicely. I did put a glass texture on the window panes in order that you may see that the windows have been fit into place and of course the ceiling in not visible in order to see inside the room from above.

I'll have to deal with this one in the morning as it looks like it will take a little more time than I have tonight. I gave it a fast once over but the old brain is a little slow this evening after going out to an awards dinner. I hate these things and have a tendency to polish off a glass or four of wine listening to the speeches. Why you need to thank 15 people by name just to accept a token of recognition I'll never understand. My speeches are usually under 10 sec. "Thank You for this award. It's a privalege to be recognized by my peers for something I enjoy doing and I hope to live up to this honour you have bestowed upon me."

Because we know the exact size of the door opening, e.g., 30" x 84" (DGS), we can build our door frame in the center of the studio because it is easier to do it this way.ย  After we have built the complete frame, we will "glue" it together and then move it into it's correct location in the WallRight.

Remember, practice makes purr ... , er, better, n'est pas? ... ๐Ÿ˜„

Oui. C'est ca. I noticed this frame design will be different from the one in the tutorial posted earlier. I read through the other and was experimenting with it. A lot of concepts covered in a single project. I like it.

Not sure what that's all about. I suspect a render artifact of some kind because that is a single poly surface. The window trim was made the same way as the door casing from the 6poly box. I just hit the render button again with no changes to anything at all and get a slightly different result. This would lead me to believe it has to do with IDL but I've been wrong before. Any ideas?

This render is better. Hit it with a little plastic wood in the shallow spots. Actually, I increased the thickness of the frame 1/4" from 3'4" to 1"

I'll take another look at it but the frame did not appear to intersect the wall so I am not exactly sure why this fix worked. I rendered with and without the door frame present in the scene in case it was some weird shadow but there was no real difference in the "hand prints" using this method either. I'll figure this out yet but in the mean time I have a lot of wine to rack and prefer the "poor man's credit card" method to using one of my auto-siphons.

Export door as .obj and then delete the door. Import the door.obj back and you can adjust the origin. If you import it back to the door frame where it was exported from you would be adjusting the OriginZ parameter. Adjusting the origin without exporting and importing the .obj results in moving the door not it's center point.

Let's make the Door an open & shut case, shall we.

To do that we need to adjust the Door's origin (that's the point of rotation -- > hinge pins).

Trying to set the origin parameters, e.g., OriginX, Y, and Z, using numerical values can be very difficult trying to get it just right ... BUT ... if we use Poser's Joint Editor,
it can be as easy as 3.14159265358979 <--- that's pi, ha ha.ย  ...
