There you go :) Just do it for the sake of generosity and don't worry too much about the response.

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

Wow, it's a good thing you complained. You changed your mind about not doing freebies. I remember to thank people in the comments better.

No cognitive dissonance on my part: I would love to get feedback on every item I've ever given out, but it isn't the motivator.

Should we start a group "The Thankful Freebie Creators"?

A random collection of thoughts, I know.

I read this yesterday and had to think about it.   I don't have any recollection of her stuff so I probably didn't download any of it.   Not that it was not good but it didn't fit my needs.   I have seen her art work and her scene conceptuallization and set up is very good.  She was trying somehing different and wanted comments, so I did.  I was graced with an E mail from her.

She seems to be an upright  and honest person and expects that we be the same also.   The world is a much different place than it was before the internet, or maybe not (from my line of work, I think NOT).    I have coressponded with another "Freebie" maker and he said that most of the comments he has gotten tell him what's wrong with his contributions.  A sad state of affairs, but it is a fact.    I expect that we all want some sort of ackowledgement   from what we do here,  be it money or praise or even a simple "thank you".

One change from Renderosity might help a little (this was mentioned earlier), hit the download buttton and you go straight to download.   Hit the details selection and there is a comments section.   Maybe, just maybe sending them to the same place might be a small cure.

And Apple_UK, as for the freebies you contribute, even if I never use them, thanks.

Of course you can always do what STAHLRATTE did with his GIRL-3 hybrid figure a few years ago:

Hand out every single copy personally via SiteMail.

This should weed out the mere hoarders and the impolite, but I think if a freebie turns out to be very popular, could also result in a lot of work. ;-)

I know where ou are coming from. I've only been modeling about a month and a half, and I still get that warm and fuzzy feeling when I get "real" comments, not the generic ones, but the ones people actually took a little time and effort to type. I personall, am about to venture into the market place, and I hope I have as good of luck as my freebies have had. I know I'm not gonna sell 1000 of 1 item, but I'd be happy with a few here and there.
It is sad to see a talented modeler go, as I've noticed, more people render than model.
Hope you do change your mind tho, nice to have "colleagues" to exchange ideas and converse with.
I have no life, so most days I am hanging in the chat room, so please drop in and say hi :o)
