 You can download Final Cut Express as a free trial, It is superb addition to Poser .

Have a look in here loads of stuff and check out if the  the file formats you are using is available in your choice,depends a lot on what you are editing.[

I use windows movie maker..sad but true...
Does what I need.... LOL!

Try Avidemux -- http://www.avidemux.org or Video Edit Master http://software.tutorialsroom.com.  Both are freeware, not shareware demos.

Actually, I've read a lot of good comments on Movie Maker, and almost none of the trashing that usually goes with any Microsoft product. Apparently starting with the version included with either Vista or Seven though they changed it and it supposedly has somewhat fewer features though.

Never did get any decent results with Movie maker,lost lots of detail and contrast when using AVIs,by the way Win 7 no longer carries Movie maker.

You can also download an updated version of the original (v. 2.6) for Vista and (supposedly) Seven, if you want the extra functionality they removed from the "Live" version.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's wmv-centric :-)

There is the new Windows Live Movie Maker but it does not have as many features as the older version.  Besides if you are using XP SP2 or later it should be already installed.

If you want to create DVDs from the movies that you create then I would suggest DVDStyler. (http://www.dvdstyler.de/).

I use windows MovieMaker, for cutting large videos, and to combine small animation footages with music. It outputs to wvm in some standard sizes, and works well. Avi's are uncompressed, a real nightmare.

Pinnacle Videospin is second, as it can handle other formats. I just found it, so it might promote to #1.

Wax, from http://www.debugmode.com/ , comes third at this moment. It handles multiple videotracks, I just haven't used it that much yet. Looks great though, and can run as a plugin too. Deals with Avi.

Go http://www.prvsoft.com/ for great converters and other free tools, love them.

For my Poser animations, I export with Movie Settings > Format: Image File in PNG format, then import them into Adobe Premiere Essentials using its Import > Numbered Stills checkbox function.

However, Premiere's WMV export function has mysteriously stopped working for me, so I'm now looking for alternatives too. Any further recommendations with the "Numbered Stills Import" requirement in mind?
