For anyone who hasn't found this yet...

Free dynamic stuff for Daz Studio at Optitex:

http://www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/

Also at sharecg:

Thanks Annie!! I've downloaded everything but I can't get them to load in Studio. They are sitting there in the content folder but won't load when I search for content!!I'm sure it's something simple but I can't for the life of me figure it out!!

I have downloaded these files and they are executable. They do try to load into the "C:Program FilesDAZStudiocontent" directory, if this is not where you keep your default DAZ directory, just change it to where you do.

To find the files you will need to go to your "People/Victoria4/Dynamic Clothing/" directory and they will be there.

Hi Avros,

Thank you for answering my query. I  keep  everything in C:Users Sylvia DocumentsDAZ 3dStudio3content. They are there but won't load into the content manager in Daz Studio, when I search for content it comes up with no files even though they are in the right place! I normally don't have any problems so not sure what could be happening?

I hope I'm explaining myself clearly:-)

Hi Sylvia,

What version of D|S are you using?  I beleive the freebies require D|S 3.1.2.19 - 32 bit.  Dynamic clothing will not work in any 64 bit D|S version; nor do they work on a Mac.

Hi Tokejr,

I've got Daz Studio Advanced, the latest one. The Dynamic clothing I've already got is fine but I can't get these freebies into my contents to use them:-) When I search for new content it comes back with no new files!!

OK, let's take this one step at a time and we'll figure it out.

Unzip one of the freebie files to a temporary directory on your hard drive - I have a folder set up I call NewZipFiles on Drive C:

I use that folder to unzip all files to and then install or copy them over.

If you can do that, and post back, we'll take the next step and see if we can figure it out.

I didn't download everything but out of the ones I did get..only one had the wrong path..the chef's hat.  It didn't specify the content folder, after I put that in it installed fine.

I have my Daz program installed to 'program files' on my C drive...and that is where I install all of my dynamic clothing because thats where my daz people are...

Example:

C:Program FilesDAZStudiocontentPeopleVictoria 4DynamicClothingRuffleSkirt

Some of them go into the 'props' folder in Content:

C:Program FilesDAZStudiocontentDynamic Clothing PropsHatTest

Hope that helps.

Well, I have mine installed to C:DazStudioContent and I had to change the path on each installation.  If you have a non-ProgramFiles installation, you will have to change the Destination Directory for every file.

Hey folks,

For those of you downloading and installing the freebies from OptiTex, I've done a few quick textures for them.

Texture files for DAZ STUDIO Dynamic clothing. Included are textures for some of the OptiTex Freebies (http://www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/Freebees.html?1290143573531) and for the long pants in the paid Ultimate Pattern Design kit (http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=11300) . The clothing NOR these textures will work in Poser.

Now, make no mistake, I'm no texture artist , but these textures are a bit better than the ones that come with the freebies.  They do, at least, have seams and hems.

Enjoy.

Yes, its set up to include the "program files" folder in the path.  If you install any other way you will  have to change it to your own path....but I'm thinking it needs to be installed wherever your "people" folder is where V4 and M4 are installed to work properly.

In any case...I installed it to the path it called for within the main daz program and had no problem with DS recognizing it.

I was just really glad to get some dynamic stuff for free for a change...lol

Dynamic clothing can go to any DAZ Studio content directory - there's no need, if you don't want to, to place it in the same content folder as your base figures. In general it's a bad idea to place content in the application folder, though in XP it won't actually cause problems.
