Subject: Dynamic Cloths will not load.

Hi,

Despite seemingly following the outlined rules for loading cloths to V4 they just dont.

and I get an error message " Error loading files see logue files " as below.

Reading CowSkin.daz
Unable to find file for storable: data/3_0/CowSkin_20066_Object/CowSkin_20066_Shape/maps/optitexUVs.dsv
Unable to find file for storable: data/3_0/CowSkin_20066_Object/CowSkin_20066_Shape/geometry.dso

Ran tdlmake on image C:/Documents and Settings/HP_Administrator/My Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio3/content/DYNAMIC CLOTHS/content/Runtime/textures/Opti123/CowSkin/LeatherBMP.jpg

These are from Optitex freebies which should work in Daz I believe.

They are placed in the native content area My Documents......as above.

Some times it will ask for location of certain textures which I point it to then I get the error message. At other times the load bar appears and at about 90% the error message appears.

I thought I would try the freebies as everyone says how good they are and they do look great indeed . BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THEM......LOL

Help Please.

I read in one of the DAZ3D forums that the update to the plugin has broken the use of Dynamic Cloth in DS3.   Hang on, I'll try to find the linkie.

Yeah, there is a plug-in bug thing in your version of DS3.

Try going for the updated latest version, if you can use it that.

Infinity10 Hi,

Thought I would update the above to keep all up to speed on progress........yes progress!

After installing latest Daz 3.1.2.20  I placed the content folder for Dynamic Cloths on the desktop.

Lo and behold . no more error messages.

I loaded V4 .

Went to my content folder made my selection to load onto V4.However it insisted that I  remove V4 or save her ?

So I went along with it and deleted V4.

Now the Dress selected loaded.

So then I reloaded V4.....and she popped into her dress at once!

Then View,Tabs,Dynamic Cloths.

Dynamic Cloths panel appears.

selected drape.......BINGO.

So all I need to know now is how to get it to load straight onto V4.

But yes it is at least a start.......Phew.

Well, sorry, that bit is a little beyond me to comment on.  I did not have this trouble with DS3 and dynamic cloth on V4.  Seems like a bit of an oddity requiring you to use your work-around.

Perhaps others here, or over at the DAZ3D forums, could assist ?

Hmm???  Of all the time having dynamic clothes since DS3.0 up to 3.1.2.19, I've never had that kind of problem.  I didn't install DS3.1.2.20 though, don't feel like meeting new bugs after already pulling most of my hair out lol.  This can be one of the new bugs which is NOT welcome on my computer lol!

Selecting V4 and the dynamic clothes confirming to V4 at load, that's not a problem with DS (Daz Studio) or users, it's that OptiTex apparently doesn't have them conform to V4 anymore, or at least none of the freebies do anyways.  Most store bought dynamci clothes conform to her as long as you have her selected.  Probably a restriction from the store itself.

Wolfie it's an old problem that only a small minority suffer from, it's been there since the prerelease beta testing so it's not anything new.

Thanks, Bejaymac :)  Probably no wonder I never heard about it.
