Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. When I import the prop I need to check a couple boxes in the import dialog screen and that seems to fix the problem. :)

I'm importing 3DS props into Poser. Basically I get the prop all lined up to where I want the right hand to grip it, then I click on Object>Change Parent and choose the right hand. BOOM the prop goes completely beserk and changes its position with relation to the right hand. How do I stop it from doing this stupid action???
WTF??!!
