Are you familiar with the Material room?

angiexx2 ( ) posted Sat, 22 January 2011 at 2:47 PM

no am not familiar with the material room,

I made the texture by using uv mapper to get the template, then textured it in psp x2 and saved the textured one as a jpeg

If that is the case, I would suggest you open a character with associated textures already loaded and look at it's node structure in the material room.  Don't look at complicated arrangements, it will just confuse you.  You just want the basic setup to get an idea how nodes are connected.

Here is a simple node arrangement for skin texturing characters within the advance tab of the material room.  This is a basic texture for Miki 2, and is predominantly how all objects and characters are textured.  But, as you can see, many other different image maps can be connected to the Posersurface which can create surface depth and light responsiveness.  When you populate all the material zones of your character/object, you can ultimately create an mc6 file within the Materials category in your library.   To convert the mc6 to a MAT Pose, you need to open the file in a text editor, and change *mtlcollection* to *figure* or *$current* (props) and change the file extension to pz2.  Save the file into your Poses category folder.  Be aware, the MAT Pose format for applying textures to figures may, in the future, become obsolete.

Can you provide a screencap of your material room setup?

That particular image post is for the inner mouth.  Do you have an actual MR cap of the torso or larger body area?

Is the Color_Texture node your new texture?  If so, you will need to connect it to your* PoserSurface*  the same way as the Image_Map_2 node.  This will effectively replace the old image map with the new.

Click and drag the little plug icon top left of the image map into the little socket icon on the right hand side of the Poser surface.
