Subject: Antonia 1.2.0 is now out

odf ( ) posted Mon, 28 February 2011 at 7:11 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 3:18 AM

I've just uploaded the new Antonia to http://sites.google.com/site/antoniapolygon/.

Unfortunately, the update became necessary because there was an unexpected incompatibility with Wardrobe Wizard. This is now fixed, but on the flip side, full-body morphs and poses for Antonia 1.0 and earlier that involve the hip/waist area will not work correctly with the new version.

Since the necessary modifications are very simple, I'm expecting that most of the existing content that is affected by this will soon be updated and work with the new Antonia 1.2.

I promise this is the last release update for a while.

From the README:

Please note that poses and full-body morphs made for version 1.0.0 and earlier may not work on this version, since the former 'hip2' actor has been renamed to 'hip' and the former 'hip' actor to 'waist'. The change became necessary in order to make Wardrobe Wizard support possible.

In general, it should be very easy to update files using the old actor names: replace 'hip' with 'waist' everywhere in the file, and then replace 'waist2' with 'hip'. Be careful if your file contains 'hip' or 'waist' as parts of longer words, though. For example, a brute-force replacement as described above would turn the word 'shipment' into 'swaistment'.

And don't forget to go buy the Wardrobe Wizard license if you want to give her clothing.

I've just updated my poses on Antonia's Freebie-site - unfortunatly I was not able to update the description as well. So if you downloaded the Assorted Poses please download and install them again as soon as you installed Antonia 1.2.0.

I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

By the way There is a thread over at DAZ

http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=158203&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=160

Either you, odf, may want to post the same announcement to the thread or, if you give me the permission, I will copy your text and post it there. I do not want to "hijack" your posting without asking you first.

In general, it should be very easy to update files using the old actor names: replace 'hip' with 'waist' everywhere in the file, and then replace 'waist2' with 'hip'.

Just checking: these actor changes should also apply to pre-1.2 conforming items, yes? I tried LittleDragon's tank top on Antonia 1.2 last night and it wouldn't conform properly. I'm guessing this is why, although I haven't had time to try rectifying it yet.

Oh, and I assume you meant "replace 'hip2' with 'hip'" - or did the conversion script process your posting as well? :D Thanks for making this thread easy to find, anyway. Nobody else will ever use 'swaistment' in a Renderosity thread. Surely?

odf ( ) posted Fri, 11 March 2011 at 6:17 AM

@EnglishBob: It depends on how smart your replacement program is. If you replace 'hip' by 'waist' everywhere, that will automatically replace 'hip2' by 'waist2', unless you have something that can search and replace complete words only. But then you may have to check that your software takes the underscore as a word boundary and replaces the in 'hip in things like 'hip_twisty' as well.

I'm assuming the search-and-replace procedure will also fix conforming items for Antonia 1.0 or earlier to work with version 1.2, but I haven't tested that yet.

Ah, I see - you were describing the process, whereas I was looking for the desired outcome. :)

I'm converting the LD Tank Top and the s242 jeans and t-shirt at the moment, but won't be able to try them until later due to unreasonable restrictions on having nekkid wimmin on my screen at work. :) Of course one has to rename the geometry's groups as well, if it has hip or hip2 groups.

Yes, just to confirm - doing the search and replace on conforming CR2s and their associated OBJ geometry does make them conform to Antonia 1.2.

In fact I used Dimension 3D's Poser File Editor and UVMapper Pro, but the effect is the same...

This is LittleDragon's tank top and Scheusal242's jeans on Antonia 1.2 V3 mapping following the above process. The hair will be along shortly, now Les has made it work. :)

EnglishBob ( ) posted Mon, 14 March 2011 at 11:52 AM

I believe the A version has the old UV mapping. As far as clothes making goes, there's no difference.

Thanks EB for the confirmation, :)
