Subject: Save entire scene, but just frame 30

hobepaintball ( ) posted Tue, 26 April 2011 at 5:17 AM · edited Wed, 29 January 2025 at 6:44 PM

Through a series of misteps I have a complex scene set up, but at frame 30 not frame 1. I want to save just this frame and delete 1-29. There are no hair or cloth simulations at this point, so they wont be a problem. Saving just frame 1 is easy but for some reason, even after all these years I don't know how to do the reverse.

I do not know how to save only a specific frame of an animation without deleting frames, so perhaps you already know more than me. But this is what i would do: simply copy frame 30 to frame 1 in the keyframe editor and then delete keyframes 2-30. The effect would be the same, wouldnt it?

My issue is most of the many many props and furniure items were added at frame 30 so its all the "stuff" I am trying to save. So now that the room is built, the lighting is set and the models are posed I want to save frame 30 as a launching point for the project.

As for deleting frames AFTER what you want to save that is simple. Lets say you want to save frames 1-20 of 30. Just go to frame 20 and in the "frame of counter" enter 20 instead of 30. Poser will notify you you are deleting frames and you are set.

I would go to frame 30 then use Edit/Memorise/All.

Then go to frame1 and Edit/Restore/All

You will then have your scene in the first frame.

Ditto dadt.  I use that method all the time when I've accidentally added something new at a later frame.

Or if you don't want to mess up the rest of the animation: Memorize only the new item, go back to 1, restore the new item.

It would be nice if Poser had a warning or a stopper when you try to add something after 1.  There's no proper reason to do that; it's always an accident.

That solution is awesome, thanks for the help.
