Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 2:22 am)
A number of issues can cause this condition, starting from deep search not specified in General Preferences to files inadvertently relocated to another location.
Question: is the Seagate drive your primary drive? Is Poser located with the Program Files folder under Vista? If yes to both questions, there might be security and authorization issues in place preventing access to specific files.
No to both. And I have Deep search specified in my Prefs.
My main Hard drive is the 300gb internal. The Seagate is an External and Poser plus my runtime is installed there at I:Poser. The Runtime is in the main Poser runtime tree from there. I don't use external runtimes either. The Free Agent allows me to use Poser on any computer. I have 3-4 external Hard Drives I use on this machine.
This behavior only occurs when Poser needs to find a file upon loading a poser file from the library.
The only thing I could imagine is the absolute/relative pathways for contents not responding correctly when Poser references on the external drive. I wouldn't know because I do not have such a set up. However, there are others which do and they may have a definitive solution to your problem. Sorry I couldn't be further help.
