Subject: Charged but no DL available

Mommazon ( ) posted Sat, 20 August 2011 at 5:44 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 7:54 PM

I had hoped this would be an easy fix, but I'm thinking it is more complicated.  Here goes nothin'...

Yesterday (8-19-11)I was making a purchase and didn't realize I entered my CC expiration date incorrectly until I got to the next page and was asked to fix the error.   I went back and fixed it and clicked to finalize the purchase, but I got a message that my CC was declined.  I knew before I purchased that there was more than enough to make the purchase so I went to double check my CC and the available credit showed that the amount for my MP purchase was in fact deducted.  I'm not sure what to do here because the Shopping Cart doesn't think I completed the transaction and did not provide DLs for the items.  However, I have been charged for them.

Per the response I got back from Rednerosity Store Help, he said...

"When looking at your order, it seems as if you have downloaded all the problems correctly.  If you have any troubles downloading the products, please contact the vendor directly for customer support."

I haven't downloaded anything from yesterday's purchase as it did not take me to that page as an option, both items are still showing in my shopping cart.  The money went somewhere, but darned if I know where.

I did as was suggested and contacted both vendors, but I honestly don't think they can help if the order didn't process correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

CHEERS!

Your best bet would be to call your CC issuer to both check whether the charge was completed or is just pending, and to clear the block that they appear to have put on due to the incorrect expiry date.

Hi Blake,

I would love to provide an order number but it didn't give me one.  It charged the CC without finishing the order so I have no idea what to do.  I checked with both vendors and neither got a notification of a purchase.  I can only give you the date, August 19, 2011 and the amount $19.68.  Both items are still in my shopping cart as though there was no completed order.  However, 48 hours later, the money has still not reappeared on my CC.

I was told to check back on Monday to see if the transaction has been completed.

I too cannot find an order #, so please check back in with us tomorrow and let us know what you hear from the CC company.

Hi,

Credit Cards have a two step process. An authorization puts a "hold" on the funds and a settlement actually places the charge on your card. Your credit card was authorized, but not settled because the address and zip were not verified. This means your card company shows an authorization from Bondware, Inc. as a "pending" charge; however, you will not actually be charged. It can take from 2 to 7 days for this "pending" authorization to be released from your credit card. You can contact your card company to find out how long the charges will be in "pending" since they will not be settled. If you get the AVS failure, please do not keep clicking the Make secure Purchase button. Each time you do it puts another pending charge on your account.

Thank you,

Blake

Thanks Blake,

I have had the charges pending before, but not when the transaction was incomplete due to incorrect information.  I clicked the link provided on the error page as opposed to the browser back button so I wouldn't create a duplicate charge.  Once I corrected the information there really wasn't another option to continue with the purchase so I had no alternative but to click the Make Purchase.

I'll just have to make sure I'm not overloaded and worn out next time I make a purchase.  ;-)

Cheers
