Susanne - both your candle image and autumn leaves are gorgeous and perfect for the challenge!
Thank you for sharing those beauties!

It's too late in the year for warm colors up here ... the light is just too gray ... so I resorted to pics I took last month. :( (Sorry about that, Carin!) It was wonderful to look through everybody's challenge pics here and get ideas! There's so much excellent work here so far this month. Great stuff, everybody! :)

Excellent images, Tara! The bathroom floor seems to have ripples, which could be disorienting but is very pretty. I love geological features. There are some wonderful patterns in this one. The last image is absolutely gorgeous. I wish we had autumn color like this. I wish we had autumn color at all, this year. It's great to see it here!
Thank you! :)
The floor was actually perfectly flat. It had texture (maybe 1/8" deep) but what really caught my eye was the color variation. Between what they'd done to the floor and the light coming in from a window plus light fixtures, it was very pretty!
What struck me most about autumn in Colorado and Utah was that the leaves turn beautiful colors and stay DRY! Up here, it rains a lot (as I'm sure you know) and the leaves are a sodden mass. Listening to dry leaves rustling above our heads, kicking through drifts of dry crunchiness, was quite an experience, and was just as fantastic as the visuals!

Here is my first contribution, a shot from my most recent photo shoot with Katie and Matt, a picture we took downtown Kelowna at the harbour :)
Lashia
Beautiful images Lashia. The first one radiates warm colors from the light on their faces and the highlights in her hair to the beautiful autumn colors in the trees. I like how the second shot shows the people enjoying the fireworks too.
Tara, I loved your descriptions of enjoying the dry crunchy leaves. Here it never gets cold enough for most of the trees to bother with shedding their leaves. Most of those that do seem rather embarrassed about it, turn them a nondescript brown, and try to nonchalantly drop them to the ground when no one is looking.
Somehow this year ours are mostly turning part of the way, leaving them partially green and diseased looking! I was fascinated to see how things happen differently in other parts of the country. The only trees that don't shed their leaves here are evergreens. Firs, cedars, rhododendrons, stuff like that.
