Subject: Antonia - Opinions?
Another Question:I have tried to use Puppet Master Biped with the latest Antonia and I keep getting an error message.I have the Data file for Antonia in the Python script of Poser Pro (which I have the runtime added to Pro 2012. I have not put it in Pro 2012 as I do not know if it has been updated. Any suggestions? Cheers

I don't know anything about Puppet Master Biped, but Python scripts aren't shared between versions of Poser, when you link Runtimes. Such Runtime linking only covers Libraries, AFAIK. The functionality of Python scripts is dependent on the version of Poser being run and the version of Python used by the version of Poser being run. So the Runtime linking won't have any effect here. If you're relying on that to make the script function, it won't work. :sad:
Some scripts don't need to be updated for Poser 9/Poser Pro 2012. You might try installing the script into the PPro2012 Runtime and running it from there, with the data file installed. If it doesn't run in 2012, is there a reason you can't run it in the earlier version, save the script results, then work with them in 2012? If not, that might solve the problem.
If none of that helps, the details of the error message could help someone determine where things are going wrong.

as far as I know Puppet Master is not compatible with the most recent version of Poser. I work a lot with it and so simply start Poser 7 that still has Puppet Master in it and convert them. Then I move the poses to a new folder (into PoserPro 2012) and finetune everything there.
By the way: I have a new dat-file for Antonia 1.2 that you might like. I have attached it to this message, you just have to rename the txt to zip. And I think that the Joint Limits Pose for Antonia by Netherworks is extremly useful when converting. The converted poses often show extremly twisted feet/toes and fingers. So when fine-tuning everything:

Load Antonia into a fresh scene
-
Use the limit pose
-
Choose "Use Limits" from the Poser menue under "Figure"
-
Apply the converted pose you save
-
Tweak any bodypart
-
Uncheck use limits
-
And finetune everything else until you are satisfied.
This way you do not have to fumble around with rotated fingers and such.
I've updated the file on the Antonia Freebie site as well. I tested it with Antonia 1.2 and Standard, the resulting poses work with the upcoming Antonia WM as well but may require some small tweaks.
I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

I seem to have another question.Someone somwhere in this thread gave a link to a V3 Hair Conversion file for Antonia.When I go to use it in Poser it keeps asking for a haircon obj.Does anyone where this item may have come from so I can re download and put the file in? Also many thanks SaintFox for the Data file. I am hoping to make a few animated poses for Antonia if all goes well. Cheers

Sorry, I have no clue about the haircon.obj and where it may be available. Meanwhile there is a hairconversion for Antonia avaiable at RDNA that works like a charm, even with cr2-hair (with few exceptions that have non body-part bones, at least this seems the reason for me that parts of the hair are not converted).
About the animation: There is a huge request for them here, where Antonia WM is prepared at the moment:

Well since I have the texture work, the mc6 files and props done on my earrings, I decided to do some extra.
I've braved the set-up room in Poser 6 to add bones and movement to my earring. :)
So far all is going great.

And the texture has to be applied in the material room, won't work as a pz2 mat for some reason. And now there's company filling up the house to do pre-cooking for tomorrow.

Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012 use Python 2.7. Posers 7,8, and Pro 2010 used Python 2.4. Posers 5 and 6 used Python 2.2. The original Poser Pro Pack used... umm. I don't know what. Possibly Python 1.4. :unsure:

Any change of Python version breaks .pyc and .pyd files from previous versions. The move from 2.4 to 2.7 has required a change from Numeric to Numpy, which will leave older scripts which used Numeric broken unless they're updated for Numpy. Python 2.7 introduces a few bugs, too, which need to be corrected (notably a bug in Tkinter's askopenfilenames, which requires a workaround).
