I was going to try my hand at fashioning an undershirt for an outfit, as a second skin, so I started looking at the Alyson template and got lost. So...I added some color to it, like those seam guides I've seen SnowSultan make (cause I couldn't find one out there, though I suppose I just should've asked first)
Anyway, I didn't completely finish it, but if it help's anyone, here it is (click pic for guide)
hey there,
i didnt really get much of a response when i asked for ideas on how to distribute her. its definitely a dilemma since i cant just give her away as a freebie since it is the full Anastasia body morph, but i dont want to sell her and get into a situation where im having to support a separate Alyson1 branch of a product -- ive been working 12+ hrs a day on Anastasia content since i uploaded her and dont really have much free time. some functionality is lost with the Alyson1 version: like the JCMs, supporting morphs, etc -- and recreating all of them from scratch would be quite time consuming. it may also cause confusion with people messaging vendors asking them why their clothing has pokethrough on the Alyson1 version.
perhaps i can add it as a supplementary file and distribute it 'as is' with a disclaimer -- basically a full body morph for Alyson1 for people who really want an Alyson1 body fix while they wait to upgrade to P9/2012, at which point they can just switch to Alyson2 and enjoy the full version of the product.

The supplementary file idea probably is the most practical way of distribution. The only other way that I can think of is to use RTEncoder using a purchased file or your choice as a key to unlock the Alyson1 version.

I think having the Alyson1 version is useful. It definately saves having to figure out how to make a non-weight mapped rigging for my older Poser versions. >.<
Edit to add. Objaction mover used to be popular for this too.

My brain is just a toy box filled with weird things
I repeat my argument from earlier in this thread:
Support for Alyson 1 takes away time and results from Alyson 2. This is the Genesis/Daz Studio argument all over again... if you want GND 4 Anastasia, buy the platform it runs on. Except in this case, the upgrade buys you more power on the platform you already know and like.

Here ya go, EClark...I present Anisha (A little "An"astasia, a little Al"isha"!)
This is a no-postwork render of default Anastasia with the Alisha Ultimate material, EZSkin-ned.
She looks good!
Sorry, no morphs...not sure where to begin to do that? The 2nd 3dream face morph shown HERE may work?
Quote - I went about it a different way. I took her into the face room where I just fiddled about till I got something I liked and spawned a morph, back to Pose room and combined both Anastasia (about half strength) and my morph. I'm afraid the texture is not an accurate one since I just played with the alternate diffuse colour to get a darker shade. Ideally I'd take the texture into Photoshop where I would change the colour but darkening certain areas more and keeping others lighter (palms, etc) But this was just a quick experiment and I like how she still resembles Anastasia.
OMG Kalypso...that's awesome :). I like! :D

She's GAWGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!
Me like 8-)
Not sure about the skin and SSS though. I didn't change any of BH's settings but IIRC there was a discussion about how black skin reacts differently to light. I think BB gave some examples but that was before P9/PP2012 so I don't know if the same things apply. I'll try running it through EZSkin as well to take down the spec a bit. Btw, this is a straight PP2012 render, no postworking.
Thats true, I like how you think! :) I was trying them out, and they seem pretty nice, combined with the EZSkin plugin.
I was trying Anastasia in Lux as well, but had to drop to the Lvl1 settings on the skin. Simple is better for Pose2Lux, is what I learned. Now I am modifying Joint Parameters on WW2 converted stuff for her...fun, fun, fun!
She is so lifelike -> High Maintenance! LOL!
you could make your own quick Anastasia head morphs++ pack by doing this for several of the face room dials/dial combinations and spawning dials from them which you can then combine directly in the Pose room.
there are also the built in ethnic morphs on Alyson 2, as well as all of her head morphs. the key to using these is not to just turn them up to 1.0 since most of them are a little rough, but to just feather them. if you crank a morph too high and it causes creasing in the mesh, this is VERY easily solved by just using the morphing tool on her (see attached pic for some starting settings).
the morphing tool is THE most underrated tool in Poser. it shocks me that 90% of the people i mention it to have never even tried it.
its come a very long way since its first implementation. right now its almost like having a free, ghetto version of Zbrush right inside poser. half the time when i need something done quick i dont even export to Zbrush, i just poke it with the morphing tool. as ive said before it would be extremely difficult or downright impossible to pull off something like the finer morphs (ears, teeth, toes, etc etc) with the morphing tool, but ive already done all that for you. theres nothing stopping anyone from morphing her into whatever they want now. you can save your morphs as dials to re-use/re-combine later.
im working on the Expressions pack right now, im a stickler for detail so it takes me a bit, but youll be seeing it soon - which will further increase her flexibility.
cheers,

The morphing tool is great, I've been using it instead of postworking problems like creases, pokethrough etc. I really need to try and work with it more for morph creation though.
As for the expressions just using the expression dials will probably not yield the best results. I found I had to move her teeth as well.
Just to reinforce what Gabe said about the Morph Brush. It is very powerful and can do the basic things a dedicate sculpting program can do, except for very intricate work.
Aside from a poke-thru fix, which literally takes a few seconds once you get the hang of it, sometimes it is just easier to use the Morph Brush to create a character fit in a piece of clothing rather than go through the steps of Wardrobe Wizard and still have to tweak after that process.
First I use the clothing's morph dials to get it in the ballpark. Then use the Morph Brush's push and pull functions with a broad brush size to get it closer. Then I use smaller brushes and low magnitude for the final shape, then brush over rough areas with Smooth. That is oversimplifying it, but it's the general idea. Spawn a FBM when all is perfect, then delete the Custom Morph you made in all the clothing's body parts (first set everything at zero and make sure the FBM works).
I only run into problems when the clothing mesh is too lo-res or the vendor has done something odd that prevents the brushes or the symmetry function from working properly. But most commercial meshes seem to be good quality.

That's excellent news. There are some Anastasia expressions appearing in the MP, they are collections of Alyson2 expression dial settings. Let's just say I look forward to Gabriel's set, which, as I understand it, are custom expressions and do not turn the Alyson2 dials.
I find that the morph brush is excellent for creating facial morphs like different nose shapes, lips, brows, etc...but expressions (I think) are a bit beyond it's scope. I'd do those in a modeling program - if it was me :). Much easier to make those very subtle changes that expressions require. Poser's morph brush is just a bit ham-handed for those...hehe.

Beats the heck out of the Alyson2 smile dial. I assume partial strength looks good as well on these, Gabe? Can they be mixed, say .500 smile and .250 pucker or something like that? Not trying to slow down release, just wondering. With Anastasia, I think your approach is more effective than the expression sets that are just values for Alyson2 dials.
Gabe, the mouth is looking really good, all muscles are morphing as they should, great job! there's no "showing teeth for the sake of it" that sometimes comes with these expressions, nor an excessive pulling up of the corners of the mouth. That has to be one of the best smiles I've seen for Poser chars. As for the eyes, I agree with Timberwolf. For what I remember, genuine smiles tend to also engage the eyelids a touch (and I mean TOUCH, it's almost imperceptible), although I would expect that if you can dial those normally, they shouldn't come added into the morph and could be added to taste by the user.
every expression is a full custom head morph. ie: a smile will be a complete custom head remorph for a smile. a pucker or snarl will be a complete custom head remorph for that expression.
as to how they all combine with the existing Alyson smile morphs, with other facial morphs, with 3rd party morphs, with Bob from next door's morphs, etc - thats going to have to be for people to experiment with themselves.
right now all i care about is when you turn the GNDA_OpenSmile morph up, you get a quality, custom open smile. when you turn the GNDA_Pucker or GNDA_SlySmile morph up, you get quality facial expressions, etc.
theres just too much crap out there for me to guarantee that it all works together properly. and this isnt exclusive to Alyson: ive been at this for a decade and i still cant get a genuine, quality mouth open/open smile morph from Vicky that doesnt look Fd up unless i take her head into Zbrush or get to work on it with the morph tool.
regarding the blinking: you can blink the eyes independantly anytime. the eyes are crinkled, its just that the lighting in this particular render obscures it. incidentally, when i smile like that, the corners of my eyes crinkle due to the contraction of the facial muscles but my eyes do not close even 1mm. when you squint the eyes in addition to the smile things start to look feral.
