you can cheat.. go to the freebie section.. you'll find lots of walls.. or even rooms.
if you don't want to cheat.. create a cube.. and flatten it.. and resize it... then raise it to where you want.. push it back towards the camera.. if it's just a wall you doing.. then you can texture it..add in skirtings etc. and your paintings, lighting..blah bah.
my though is..if you creating a room..you need three walls... go thru this post..it's a WIP project I started...
i hope that works... i'm still logged in..
thre are other posts too..if i remember. I remeber one i put up with the bathroom image that's on my gallery.
jack..this forum is here to help.. just drop any question you want. sometimes..i've put up a silly question..and after posting it..found my answer..and had to reply to my own post. stress not..
Good reply, Rosie!

All the Woes of a World by Jonathan Icknield aka The Bryster
And in my final hours - I would cling rather to the tattooed hand of kindness - than the unblemished hand of hate...
Make a cube, enlarge to fit your stuff, goto top mode move camera inside cube, shut sun off, use sky that has atmosphere haze and fog that is off.Put whatever lights you want inside cube.Render away.Floor can be a 2d plane or drop cube to just below ground plane.
"Reinstall Windows" is NOT a troubleshooting step.
Don't forget to resize the texture accordingly- if you have stetched a plane or a flattened cube the texture may appear stretched also, and that may not be what you want, especially if you want to create more realism.
For example, in your image you posted you could try reducing the scale of the brick texture along the 'x' axis (depending how your camera is wall is placed in the scene - it might be the 'z' axis). If you're not sure how to do this see the screen shot above. In the Materials lab you click the radio shown (first one on the top) which will open the Transformation tools as shown in the lower image. The scaling tools are the top set.
The mapping mode chosen can also be important (see my tips on that here)
I hope that helps.
You can also make a wall using lots of individual pieces (this is good if you want to blow it apart it won't do that on a single cube)
here is an address to a forum called Brycetech it has lots of cool bryce effects you can learn
http://brycetech.daz3d.com/
You can also do lots of other cool effects like blowing space ships up and stuff.
Hope this has helped a bit.

Sorry if I seem to be dominating this forum with my novice questions but I am thirsting for knowledge. Here's today's question. I am tryin to create the inside of an art gallery and all I want is a blank wall at the back where I will hang a picture. After many hours this beats me. All suggestions gratefully received
