Subject: V4 Hands getting mangled

sometimes after applying a pose or bvh import, or morphing with advanced standard Morph++, muscle and other morphs, V4 hands get all out of whack at the point where the hand meets the first segment of the fingers.

I have found no way to reset.

what I've tried: reverting all morphs to zero on the hand and finger segments; going into joint editor and reseting all rotations; applying canned hand poses supplied by Daz.

Anyone know what causes this and how to prevent it and how to remedy in place?

Also, has anyone done any advanced work on V4 hands in general. I don't find her hands particularly elegant or shapely.

Could it be the joint centres themselves are being moved somehow?

ISTR a similar problem with early versions of V2 but I don't know of any fix.

Online Now!

If this is an earlier version of V4, I would recommend resetting your download @ DAZ and obtain the latest base figure.  She was "upgraded" quite some time ago.

This usually happens to me when i have scaled the hands of V4, either manually or via the morph+ option "morphos".

hborre
no, latest and greatest and this has been happening to me for years.

Yes, i used the morph "hand size." what is "morph+ option "morphos"?"

Morphos was/is a part of the Daz morph+ package if i recall it correctly and lets you move various body parts like "left arm up", "torso twist" etc..

To be honest Im not sure if "hand scale" and "feet scale" was a part of morphos, I tend to customize/edit all injection files til they suit my needs.

Anyway, when I use hand scales distortions often occurs when using hand poses or normal poses, a revert back to 100% usually solves the problem.

I've had this for many years and, although it was made for V2, works perfectly on almost every figure I've had to use it on. Rename *.txt to *.hd2 and throw it in your runtimelibrarieshands folder somewhere.

Thanks R_Hatch.  I used to known how to do this but I lost it somewhere.  It is great to have it back.
