Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 20 7:20 am)
Quote - > Quote - I am a long time Poser user who uses all aspects of the program and not a drag, drop and render type which you seem to be referring to.
not at all, I guess I am just more open to learning new things to improve my workflow and final output. For the record I have 3 versions of poser installed with lots invested also, and use many features of the software (I love poser dynamic cloth, but find the dynamic cloth in DS to drape much nicer) althoughI personally dislike the library palette in poser 2012.
Also for the record, with the free DS4 pro, you can bypass the autofit tool and fit clothes with the morphs using the transfer utility, works very well.
was just trying to pint out any difference to your mind set in your earlier post that there are positive alternatives to your experience with DS.
And I was trying to point out that it takes a lot of work to learn a new program just to use a new figure
Learning is not the problem: Time is. Is it worth the time to learn a new program to use a new figure which you cannot use anywhere else?
My answer is clear - I rather spend my time at something more useful. You and some other people have a different opinion which is perfectly fine
WTH - leave a thread for a day and come back to... I think the evil Star Trek entity that had the *nterprise *rew & the Klingons doomed to fight for eternity has infected the Rendo servers. Calling Redjac (yes, I know that was a different episode :-)

LOL ,All I wanted to know was who's going to be the new Queen of Poser.
I knew there would be a war for the throne. but here ...

Weight Mapped V4. It takes all of 15 seconds or so to convert a V4 cr2 on my machine.

That being said, WW & XD 4 are getting a workout on my machine converting clothing for Anastasia & Antonia - I like these characters.
I am still trying to figure out the best workflow for converting & weightmapping clothing.
I don't have a problem adding DS to my work flow. I have a problem with the fact that it crashes EVERY time I launch it within 119 seconds of starting. I also have a problem with the fact that I reported the bug 3 weeks ago & DAZ hasn't even acknowledged the bug report.
I also don't have the time to learn a program that doesn't have any documentation. I have learned over the years not to expect much from DAZ, and they always meet my expectations.
There must be poisonings, incest, illegitimate children who were left for the wolves but were adopted by kindly peasants and grow up to lay claim to the throne etc. If you thought the Grimm's versions were bloody in the original, forget it. Here the story's more like Caligula.

ah the good old 8bit 3d card days where ya app would crash every hour on thr hour.
we made auto save plugs so at most ya would lose 5 minutes of work.
Doc's never been CGI strong point.
I remember Poser 4 manuel read see forums.
Forums are the life blood of CGI.
Before forums, HTML mailng list.
CGI manuels wore contracted out to publishing houses that new nothing about CGI.
Lightwave forums would go RTFM LW7 manuel sux.
Blender & D/S forums very friendly users I'd be rendering cubes with out them.
Game of Throns I like that show

Anyone see the new figure in the MP today? I forget the name. Looked okay except for the shoulders...anyone buy it?
*I missed that one. She has the dreaded M3 shoulder bloom. It really is hard as hell to rig decent shoulders in Poser without recourse to JCMs, though things have gotten somewhat better with weight mapping.
It makes me think of Gossamer (Marvin the Martian's monster) in the old Bugs Bunny cartoons
It's partly a posing problem; the collar actors need to be rotated down with the shoulder....
The arms are also too short. Fingertips should reach mid thigh. This model's hands are resting where the hip joint would be.

Allow me to wax anatomical:
The arms are too damn short. And the head/hip ratio is wrong. :)
