Here are picture of it..

I have used 1 IBL light,1 spec and 1 infinite with raytrace shadow..

Have also used the sphere and cove from render studio-rdna...

If there is AO on your lights or in the materials, turn it off.

I don't have any AO on skin or light...

basicwiz ( ) posted Thu, 15 March 2012 at 10:13 AM

Have you tried reducing the Min Shade Rate?

icprncss2 ( ) posted Thu, 15 March 2012 at 10:49 AM

What skin texture are you using?

Even if the texture doesn't specifically state AO, AO nodes can end up in the mix.  Especially if a real skin type python script was used by the vendor.

How many and what types of lights are you using?  If you are using a commercial light set, again you may need to check the material room for AO nodes.

If you turn off IDL do you still have the issue?

vilters ( ) posted Thu, 15 March 2012 at 11:34 AM

This is a kown issue and will be solved soon.

It can, but does not allways,  happen when 2 SSS surfaces are too close together.

Secondly; I see MSR at 0.1.
Did you set 0.1 in all the objects parameters palette also?
PP2012 manual page 396 if my memory is not fading :-)

Third: For best quality set Post filter size at 2 or 3 and Post filter type to sync.

Question?
Any special reason why Gamma Correction is OFF?

Happy Posering.

By increasing the scaling on the SSS node you can eliminate the bluishness.  But the artifacts are seen between bikini bottom and skin textures.  There really shouldn't be any SSS for the bikini material unless it was intentionally added.

icprncss2:

It's my own texture, so i know it is not any AO in it:-)
And the lights i have made myself;1 IBL,1 spec and 1 infinite..

vilters: I haven't thought if that the obj had 0,20 in shading rate, so shall change my shading rate to 0,2 and see if it helps...
You sayd i shall take post filter to 2 or 3, but then it went soooo blurry?? It is sharper at 1.
I tried with gamma correction ON, but then her eyes look to white and the lashes almost invisible...

hborre: It's V4 default bikini, have not applied anything on it...

vilters ( ) posted Fri, 16 March 2012 at 5:06 AM

For the lashes.

Anything that you put in transparancy, bump or displacement have to be set at gamma 1(ONE) => Do not use the option "Set to render Gamma" in the shader when you load the transmap texture. Use the manual selection and set Gamma to 1.

When this happens to me I break the pattern. I mean instead of turning my time into beta testing for SM, I move or delete the lights. Change them..delete the ibl and put a similar hdr on the sphere instead. Lower or raise light bias . Use shadowcams to be sure light is actually hitting the target.. Adding a specular only light as your secondary light. This light can have diffuse gray if you want light from it too.  Make parts or clothing invisible to RayTrace

Switch off light emitter on cloth and hair. Save your successful lightsets as PZ3s and start fresh from there. All this in 10 minutes so you can have fun again..

Until that IDL fix is released  ;)

hborre ( ) posted Fri, 16 March 2012 at 9:03 AM

@vilters: Mariny is rendering without any gamma at all.  Changing the gamma settings for any transparency, bump, or displacement will not have any effect in this case.

Well, Mariny did say "I tried with gamma correction ON, but then her eyes looked too white and the lashes [were] almost invisible..." which is what I believe Vilters was addressing. As you know, GC is not as easy as just turning it on...

I tried without the cove and sphere from renderstudio, and IDL off in render settings and then the problem is gone..

SO WHY can't I render with cove and sphere as other people can:-))??

LaurieA ( ) posted Sun, 18 March 2012 at 8:40 AM

Why don't you try Bagginsbill's Envirosphere? I have no problems with that at all. As it is, I have no idea why it's not working for you with the RDNA one.

Where do i find baggingsbill's sphere??

Mariny ( ) posted Sun, 18 March 2012 at 9:44 AM

Found it and shall try it Laurie:-)
