Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 11 2:52 am)
Quote - This is a couple of poses I strung together to check for bending problems. A few creases to fix and he goes to the testers.
He may be going to the testers, but he's still missing his testes... Presumably Outfitter will work on that, too...

I saw the same thing. Hopefully it's just rutine maintainence.

I use Poser 13 and win 10
As far as I know, Mike has been working on the server. It's been down a few times over the last 24 hours, was up for a bit awhile ago, but seems to be down again now.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
I think the site should be back up now. To solve the problems, Mike had to restore the site from a backup, causing five days or so of posts to be lost. Other than that, everything should be fine.

Oh, I didn't know that would be a problem. I heard the poses would only be a little bit out with V4wm. did you get the latest version of V4wm?

I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
yep esther, i just tried a few of the mdc poses from adamthwaites last pose collection, and the eyes also seem to bulge out of the forehead, i downloaded the latest version last week, unfortunately poserplace is still offline so i;ve no idea who to ask, or whther there is a python fix for poses like the clto hes converter python, the only ones ive tried so far that seem to work really well, although limited are the freebies that came with the download, maybe i'm doing something entirely wrong

Yes, it looks like the weightmap conversion has gone wrong somewhere.
The V4WM download page is still up http://poserplace.phantom3d.net/V4.2WM/V4.2WM.html
many thanks for the link, :)

I can't seem to get outfitter working today. I had to reinstall it and now it doesn't open.

Esther,
I had the same thing happen. It worked again after restarting Windows; simply restarting Poser didn't help...

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."I believe Esther's on a Mac, WandW... could be wrong about that.

It's okay, it was all my fault. I hadn't used outfitter for so long I forgot how to use it,a nd then I had trouble locating the instructions. All good now - thanks.
Yes, on a mac.

I think it's ironic to note that independant developers can solve an issue that a certain company(s) is not or willing to trying and solve.
I am not committing to saying this is towards one company nor is it meant towards more than one company, just a simple statement of fact that the private market is solving an issue that is wanted by demand.
hooray for quality developers and the tools within said programs that allow us to do this!
I second that darkedge, I think they just wanted to go in amnother direction with thier own product and no longer support poser, they have no obligation to support it and they do have thier own product to promote.
Tucan-Tiki Yep! And several of us helped test it until most of the bugs were worked out. Mike (Phantom3D) started work on M4-WM- I got involved with other things and have not been part of that project-so I don't know the status. " I second that darkedge, I think they just wanted to go in amnother direction with thier own product and no longer support poser, they have no obligation to support it and they do have thier own product to promote." True! Although they did allow the team to create V4-WM.
I have converted Arrins Silk Ribbons Sandals to V4WM (no toes -- body part nor geometry). When I pose V4's feet and conform the sandals, everything is OK. However, the picture shows what I get when I scale the feet to FeetSize = -.05. How can I fix this?
Have you got the box checked in properties for the body of the shoe (in the parameters dials just to the right) where you can check conform to scale?
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Yes, I have both "Include scales..." and "Include morphs..." checked. Unchecking them and manually scaling the feet/toes does not solve the problem.
There is a scaling problem with shoes/stockings sans toe geometry, converted to V4WM. These pics show problems with Hongyu's stockings.
1 -- Converted, no scaling.
2 -- Converted, scale 95% (FeetSize = -.05)
ooh yes I see. Sorry I haven't got any ideas as I haven't used the figure much.

Looks to me like scaling is not set up on the clothes. There are a few ways of dealing with it by modifying the shin/foot/toe scaling and joint info on the problem actor to fix it.
Or you can do the foot scaling with a magnet and add whatever needs scaled to the magnet, which is a much easier way to do it if you are not familiar with the joint palette and scaling.
Some things are easy to explain, other things are not........ <- Store -> <-Freebies->
Yes I too would love a weight mapped V3.
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Yep that is the bit I wouldn't want to attempt by myself.
I would need a clothing outfitter pluggin as well, so it would have to be left to the professionals.

Hi, I've just got P9 - though I'm not a Poser newbie. Been using it for ages in its various flavours. I'm totally new to the Weight Mapping concept. I've got the DAZ people (M4 and V4) in a folder on my external HDD. I've added the folder to the P9 library. How do I install the V4-WM script? Sorry to be such an idiot, but some help would be really appreciated as I'd love to see my V4 renders new and improved. You fellows are great for doing all this - thank you.
My aspiration: to make a decent Poser Render I'm an Oldie, a goldie, but not a miracle worker :-)
