Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 5:12 pm)
The only ways to get rid of these is to reload offending object or hand edit them out of the PZ3 scene file.
You can get rid of IK as attached picture
I'll work on a screenshot for the texture issue.
As for the Kinematics response, I believe that will fix my issue. I can just make new template characters. Been wanting to for awhile anyway.
The Texture Manager is the window that opens when you click on a texture map in the Material Room. For example, if you click on the Diffuse Color texture map, it opens the texture manager. The drop down is right above the "browse" button. The listed textures on that drop down is what I am referring to.
Best I can tell from 2 days of scouring the 400 page user's manual, this is some kind of damn texture cache... but I can find no way of emptying (read: clearing) it.
I took your advice and tried deleting and closing... and several textures remained (I know the "toon" textures are basic and will always be there).
Thanks both of you for the response :) I'm off to go rebuild my templates. It's a considerably less frustrating fix (and it was so easy! /Facepalm).
The texture cache should be located in something like
Documents and Settings/YOUR_USER_NAME/Local Settings/Temp/Poser/PoserTextureCache
It should empty when you exit program. I have had occasion when it didn't empty completely, but the new scene didn't see them anyway.
If you can't find the cache, use Windows Search function to look for files of type ".exr", then maybe you can narrow down to proper folder.
The new zone will have dimension of zero so you will not actually see referenced texture or shader.
In attached picture, I show V4 that accidently got extra material zones. For the most part, the should be no entries after "Preview".
If you find any, they are suspect until proven otherwise.

Okie dokey... I have been using Poser 7 since it came out, but a few details still elude me and I am hoping someone here can help out.
In the Material Room, when you click on a texture to change it, you open the Texture Manager dialog. If you use the drop down, it shows all the textures you have previously used. How do I clear this? With some project templates characters I am using this is getting quite large, and I would love to be able to clear it.
Alternatively, if someone can tell me how to delete the TRANSLATION dials on a character's feet, I would just start from scratch more often and quit using the same template characters over and over.
Thanks in advance :) JTP
