Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 07 11:07 am)
Well, the thing is, the .png is a replacement for the .rsr in ProPack. If you install something using an .rsr, PPP creates a .png and ignores the .rsr after you load it the first time. You can just delete the .rsr. And for new stuff you save, it just makes a .png, so you see, PPP user's CAN'T really make .rsr's. Sorry, I'm afraid they're becoming antiques, now ;)
Something you might try; Try importing the PNG as a background (if it won't load directly, convert it with a utility like the Free image manager Irfanview32), load the object, prop, whatever, & move it off-view. than re-save the file. the background, being the only thing in the view, should become the RSR view. Good Luck!
After you have opened the file in Poser, position and render it as you want it to appear. Make sure the shrugging guy is still selected and go to the bottom and click on the + sign (Add to Library). Type the name of the file as it appears under the shrugging guy and say OK. It will warn you that the file exists, just say ok and voila! You have an rsr file.
So I'm alittle confused, and I've been wanting to ask this question. If you are running Pro pack you can't create .rsr files? I finally got the hang of doing the mat files but once I was done no .rsr file was created only .png, is there a way for propack people to create them. If you've already mentioned it please forgive me, I'm just a tiny bit dense.
Fyrene, oh yes, I already know how to do that, I've been working with Poser for several years. I've already done it with these files, but I was just wondering if there was a way to convert the png that the original artist created. Some of them look more professional than the ones I create. I tried using a render, but when I save it, it only saves it as the objects on the screen, if it's a figure, it has the transparent eyebrows (little dots) showing and such. It doesn't look like a finished image, like some I've seen. Melanie

A lot of downloads are coming with .png files now. I know this is for the thumbnail, but how the heck do I make it show in my library? Or is this just for ProPack? Can it be converted to an .rsr file for regular old Poser4? All I get is the little shrugging guy with these. I can look at the image in Photoshop, but it won't do anything in Poser. Melanie
