The hair in the front is rolled into some type of gravity-defying missile-shaped protrusion.  The back is a "ducktail", below collar length.  Prominent sideburns may also be worn.

I am looking for a 3D mesh version for use in Poser.

I believe what you are referring to is a "Jellyroll." It was, as memory serves, made popular by Elvis Presley in the mid 50's.

And no... I have never seen one for Poser.

The variation on this is called the DA (Ducks Ass) because the trailing end is supposed to be fanned out and split in the middle for that style.

A pompadour is what it's called actually ;). Do a search for pompadour on Google. There's Elvis! LOL

Thanks so much for the clarification !  I was confused by the terminology, not realising that the British speak a different language from folks in the US of A (heh heh ).

I had in fact done a Google search, and was puzzled by the terms.

Most likely because it was Elvis that made the pompadour wildly popular in the US...lolol. Jerry Lee Lewis had one as well, albeit a curly one ;). After awhile most 50's and early 60's rockers had one at one time or another - Jan and Dean, Fabian, etc. Even now they are still popular in the US (a la James Franco), just not as exaggerated as the 50's styles.

Oh yes that one will defy gravity nicely !!!!

Dude from the stray cats had a pretty cool DA... should be pretty easy to make a non layered hair prop of this style... especially considering the amount of pomade that went with it. Could be like one of those early poser hair props, untextured, toonish, and plasticky.

Thanks ! Raoul Hair, noted.  I will check for morphs in the front and back, or else may need to apply magnets to adjust.  Bigger pompadour in the front is more,... manly, or whatever. Heh heh.
